IMATS: The Haul (Pic Heavy) Part II

I'm back with Part II of my IMATS experience. Although I was very excited about Inglot and OCC, I did purchase some other items. Here they are...

MISS ADORO LASHES

I intended on purchasing some lashes at the show. I heard that at the Los Angelas IMATS last year, the Miss Adoro lashes were $1, so I was excited when I saw them at IMATS. They were 12 for $24, which is $2 for each pair. I've learned that is better to buy lashes in bulk than paying almost $5 for them individually.

I really like the different styles and lengths of these lashes, they're comparable to Red Cherry lashes. I had a set of 12 but my mother wanted to try 1 pair :) Good thing we bought these early on in the day on Saturday because they sold out by the end of the day.

NIGEL'S BEAUTY EMPORIUM

My next stop was Nigel's Beauty Emporium, they have all kinds of makeup tools and supplies for personal use and for using in your professional makeup kit. I hadn't planned on buying anything but their prices were so reasonable that I went on and picked up a few things.

I'm always needing brush cleaner so I bought a bottle of that, I've been wanting a metal spatula since forever to scoop out foundation and concealer for my kit, so I got one of those and I've always wanted to purchase the pointed q-tips to clean up eye makeup but I could never find them... I was glad to finally get them!

CICI'S FASHION BRUSHES

I saw the Cici's Fashion brushes and they were so inexpensive that I had to buy some. I really don't think I'll ever stop buying makeup brushes... I bought some eye shader brushes, blending brushes, spoolies and eye brow brushes. I've only used two of the brushes so far and the quality is pretty decent and durable for the price.

ALCONE

Alcone is another company that offers so many makeup supplies and tools for all the makeup enthusiasts and professionals. I had to pick up some more of their world renowned sponges. They have the most biggest, non-latex sponges EVER! The sponges don't crumble, fall apart or turn yellow. The great thing I love is that because they are non-latex they don't soak up all of your product, especially foundation.

They have been voted best makeup sponge 4 years in a row and even Celebrity Makeup artists like Sam Fine swear by the sponges. Can't you tell I'm excited about these sponges? These are the only sponges I use in my kit. I have 3 packs at home but I decided to get 2 more packs.

I also picked up the famous Beauty Blender sponge, I've never used it and still haven't used it yet but I will. I've heard it blends and applies foundation and concealer like a dream. Since I bought the Beauty Blender sponge the lady threw in the Alcone sponges for free!

ROYAL and LANGNICKEL

Royal and Langnickel is a brush company that was also at IMATS. I've never heard of them before but they have some AMAZING brushes, they had such a wide variety. The quality and softness of the brushes are excellent and they were all inexpensive. I bought another eyebrow brush and a smudger brush.

INGLOT

Now for my UHMAZING Inglot palette! I bought the 10 pan-round palette. The entire palette was $35! Thank goodness for the 30% discount. These shadows are so amazing, the pigmentation is out of this world. They are officially my favorite eyeshadows. That's right!

I love that the cover to the palettes are magnetic, so the cover swivels on and off... that's cute. Inglot offers several type of shadows: AMC (pure pigment) DS (double sparkle) Matte (pure color, no shimmer or glitter) and Pearl finishes. The swatches are below, Inglot shadows are identified by numbers... I added my own color description.

Colors from left to right: Pearl 453 (white), AMC Shine 08(champagne taupe), DS 474(yellow), AMC Shine 16 (chartreuse) and AMC Shine 17(light sea green.)

Colors from left to right: Pearl 418 (green shimmer), DS 504 (turquoise), AMC Shine 12 (brown), Pearl 448 (silver) and Black Brow (565)

OCC

Next, I purchased my OCC lip tars that I've been wanting for at least a year. For those who haven't heard or know anything about lip tars, here's the scoop directly from their website...

"A stunning new innovation in lip color, OCC Lip Tar combines the longevity of a lipstick, with the ease of application of a gloss. Goes on slick and moist, and dries down to a satin finish. Ultra-saturated in color, Lip Tar contains an unprecedented amount of pigment - a little goes a very, very long way! An intense yet featherweight layer of color that stands up to the scrutiny of Hi-Def Video and Digital Photography, without ever looking (or feeling!) heavy. Meant to be mixed, Lip Tar comes in concise array of colors for a limitless selection of shades made by you!

Like all of our products, OCC Lip Tar is 100% Vegan and Cruelty-Free, and is also free of parabens and other harsh preservatives. A simple, elegant formula that contains Hemp Oil, Peppermint Oil and Vitamin E, OCC Lip Tar feels as good on the lips as it looks!"

I wore the Hootchie colored lip tar yesterday and I agree with the description above... the color is extremely intense and you really need just a little a bit to do the trick. I haven't used them in photo shoots but a few of my friends have and they loved the results. I bought two colors, my mom wanted the red one so I gave it to her but I will be purchasing more. Their site is having a 50%-60% off sale on a few select lip tars, now would be a great time to purchase and test them out :)

Colors: Hootchie and Harlot

MAKEUP FOREVER

Makeup Forever was not at IMATS, but we did stop at the Sephora in New York. All I wanted to buy was the MUFE HD powder and it turned into a 45 minute stay at Sephora because of  MUFE not having my Backstage Pro discount card on file. I stayed calm and the manager gave me her discount since mine couldn't be found and she also gave me some free MUFE samples, she was very professional and courteous! Good customer service still exists.

She gave me a nice sized shine-on (highlight) powder, 2 lip glosses and a face serum. I heard that MUFE is redoing their Pro discount program, so hopefully everything will be fixed and I can still enjoy my discount.

That's it for my haul, now I just have to use everything I've purchased!

The INGLOT colors look great. Can't wait to try this brand. Love love love the Beauty Blender!I prefer it to a brush for both powder and liquid. I did some of the makeup for a play a couple weeks ago, and used it. Worked perfectly.

Nice haul, Gabs!

Inglot is great Lynnie. I hate to be your enabler but try their shadows when you can. They have a discount freedom system too: 1 shadow is $7, 3 shadows are $5 and if you get 10 or more shadows it's $4.50.

Again, you knew of a good product and didn't tell me :) I didn't know the Beauty Blender was that effective!

How I Refurbished my Louis Vuitton Speedy...

I bought an authentic preloved Louis Vuitton Damier Speedy bag a few months back. While I was so excited to finally get the bag and wear it, I realized (at that time of buying and when I received it) that the bag had some wear on it that could use some fixing up. After searching online, I found a blogger,  Lollipuff , who posted an article on how to refurbish LV bags. Based on the recommendations in the post, I used the following products: Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, Blue Magic Metal Polish cream (tube) and Cadillac Boot and Shine leather conditioner. I also used laundry detergent and baby wipes. All of the products used can be used on any bag to spruce it up. Read on for the deets, to see how you can spruce up your handbag! Before At first glance, the bag had some sheen on the exterior. Most of the brass fixtures had green tarnishing (which happens with aging of brass). The leather handles were dull. The bag had lost some of its shape. The inside was the kicker! The red interi

Mac Face and Body Foundation Review

One of my most used foundations is the Mac Face and Body liquid foundation. I've been promising a  review on it, so here it is. Product Claims "A water-based, water-resistant foundation that provides long-lasting, natural coverage for face and/or body. Ideal for all skin types. Face and Body Foundation provides sheer, natural looking coverage in an easy to blend, water-resistant formula. The long-lasting formula is available in a wide range of colours and contains several emollients to help moisturize and condition the skin. It delivers professional looking results that meet the exacting standards of beauty photography and is ideal for perfecting the face and body." Pros -Price is $32.50 retail and about $19 if you're a Mac pro card member (That could be a con based on your finances). -For the price you pay it gives you a lot of foundation. It's in a 4 fl oz bottle. -Because it's water based it doesn't feel heavy, it feels very light on the face.

Creme of Nature Lemongrass and Rosemary Leave-In Conditioner Review

After promising myself to take better care of my hair, I read in a hair care magazine that if you have breakage or dry hair (like my hair) to consider purchasing a leave-in conditioner, since you don't have to rinse it out-the conditioner keeps on working and conditioning your hair. This was perfect for me because I'm really lazy when it comes to styling and taking care of my own hair... usually I look for products that are easy and quick to use. I do use Creme of Nature's Detangling shampoo, so I figured I would buy their leave-in conditioner. FYI- Creme of Nature is a brand that specializes in hair care products for women of color, who have natural or relaxed hair. They mostly use natural ingredients in their products, which they call "Certified Organic." Product Claims "Pamper your hair with this creme-based formula to soften, detangle, and provide the ultimate conditioning.  Perfect for color treated hair, organic  Lemongrass works to tone and hig
