My Latest Haul: Urban Decay, Too Faced, Lorac and more!

Hey Dolls!

I have got to do so much better, these sporadic posts are for the birds. I did a nice lil haul for myself last month. I haven't purchased makeup since The Makeup Show (that was all for my professional makeup kit) so; I guess a haul for myself was long overdue. My hauls have no rhyme or reason, I just buy because of sales, my moods and the pretty colors! Here are the deets:

Urban Decay and Too Faced Cosmetics

Ulta had their 21 days of beauty sale last month. I had been eyeing the Urban Decay Shadow Box, I purchased it for a little over $30. It comes with 12 shades, 11 shimmer and 1 matte shade.

Urban Decay shadows have never disappointed me and neither does this palette. It's small, so it will be great for traveling. The color ranges are good for creating a neutral, colorful or smokey eye. I also received a mini sample of the Urban Decay Perversion mascara, not bad at all.

Ulta had a deal that if you by $50 in product, you cold get a free Too Faced mini cosmetics beauty set that retails for $47. I added the Anastasia Dip Brow pomade in Auburn to my cart (which I have been hearing so much about) along with the shadow box and it came to $50.

The Too Faced set came with a mini shadow insurance primer, a mini lipstick in shade dolly (nude), a mini Better than Sex mascara (my new fave mascara!) and a tinted beauty balm.

Mac Cosmetics

Of course, I had to hit Mac up. I needed an eye cream, so I figured I would try their Mineralize Charged Water Moisture eye cream. I've been using it for a week and I'll have to use it for a while longer to give my thoughts on it.

I also bought a travel sized Strobe cream. I wanted something to give my foundation a more dewy look the Strobe cream is supposed to help give your foundation a dewy, moist look. I bought a Mac Spiked brow pencil (which is a staple for me) and a the Pearlgide liner in Petrol blue (navy) and Oyster Girl (freshwater pink) lip glass.

Lorac Cosmetics

I had been wanting to try some other brands and a friend recommended the Lorac Pro Palettes 1 and 2. I saw the first pro palette and it reminded me of the Urban Decay Naked 1 palette so I chose to get the second one. I actually bought two of these. The first one I bought directly from the Ulta store and I chose to keep that one for my professional makeup kit.

I bought the second one from HSN. I read a post on Instagram from Nouveau Cheap that HSN had the Lorac Pro palette along with the full sized Lorac mascara on sale for $42. Of course, if you follow Nouveau Cheap; you know she always has a coupon or discount code.

I used the $20 off code for new HSN customers, plus the palette  had free shipping. That brought my total to $22. I was stoked! I love a good deal...all thanks to Nouveau Cheap! Needless to say, I kept this palette for myself. I love the feel of the shadows, they are very easy to blend and the colors are beautiful!

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics and Revlon

OCC had a 30% off sale that was only valid for a few days. I bought the Black Dahlia (blackened red) metallic lip tar, which is a great color for fall and the lip tar primer for moisture and seal.

I also received the Revlon Bold Lacquer mascara in my Onyx box (beauty box subscription) for the month of September. I've received so many free mascaras that I haven't had an opportunity yet to try the Revlon mascara.

Real Technique Brushes

Lastly, I bought a Real Techniques eye starter brush set. I saw this on sale at Rite Aid. I feel like I can never have enough eye brushes. It comes with 5 brushes: the base shadow brush, deluxe crease brush, the accent brush, fine line brush and the brow brush.

Do you own any of these items? If, so what do you think?

Crazy haul!! You've got a lot of goodies. I love the Too Faced Shadow Insurance. IMO, it's way better than UDPP. I also have that Real Techniques set. Those are awesome brushes. I just googled Black Dahlia and it looks gorgeous! I could probably never pull it off lol, but can't wait to see you do a LOTD w/it!

Lynnie!!! Yes, I went crazy. I had been hearing a lot about Real Techniques on You Tube, since it was on sale; I felt it couldn't hurt to get it.

Black Dahlia is gorgeous, it's a great vampy color for fall and I like that the metallic has shimmer. I haven't done an LOTD in so long, I hope to have one up in the next week.

How I Refurbished my Louis Vuitton Speedy...

I bought an authentic preloved Louis Vuitton Damier Speedy bag a few months back. While I was so excited to finally get the bag and wear it, I realized (at that time of buying and when I received it) that the bag had some wear on it that could use some fixing up. After searching online, I found a blogger,  Lollipuff , who posted an article on how to refurbish LV bags. Based on the recommendations in the post, I used the following products: Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, Blue Magic Metal Polish cream (tube) and Cadillac Boot and Shine leather conditioner. I also used laundry detergent and baby wipes. All of the products used can be used on any bag to spruce it up. Read on for the deets, to see how you can spruce up your handbag! Before At first glance, the bag had some sheen on the exterior. Most of the brass fixtures had green tarnishing (which happens with aging of brass). The leather handles were dull. The bag had lost some of its shape. The inside was the kicker! The red interi

Mac Face and Body Foundation Review

One of my most used foundations is the Mac Face and Body liquid foundation. I've been promising a  review on it, so here it is. Product Claims "A water-based, water-resistant foundation that provides long-lasting, natural coverage for face and/or body. Ideal for all skin types. Face and Body Foundation provides sheer, natural looking coverage in an easy to blend, water-resistant formula. The long-lasting formula is available in a wide range of colours and contains several emollients to help moisturize and condition the skin. It delivers professional looking results that meet the exacting standards of beauty photography and is ideal for perfecting the face and body." Pros -Price is $32.50 retail and about $19 if you're a Mac pro card member (That could be a con based on your finances). -For the price you pay it gives you a lot of foundation. It's in a 4 fl oz bottle. -Because it's water based it doesn't feel heavy, it feels very light on the face.

Creme of Nature Lemongrass and Rosemary Leave-In Conditioner Review

After promising myself to take better care of my hair, I read in a hair care magazine that if you have breakage or dry hair (like my hair) to consider purchasing a leave-in conditioner, since you don't have to rinse it out-the conditioner keeps on working and conditioning your hair. This was perfect for me because I'm really lazy when it comes to styling and taking care of my own hair... usually I look for products that are easy and quick to use. I do use Creme of Nature's Detangling shampoo, so I figured I would buy their leave-in conditioner. FYI- Creme of Nature is a brand that specializes in hair care products for women of color, who have natural or relaxed hair. They mostly use natural ingredients in their products, which they call "Certified Organic." Product Claims "Pamper your hair with this creme-based formula to soften, detangle, and provide the ultimate conditioning.  Perfect for color treated hair, organic  Lemongrass works to tone and hig
