Planning for Self Care!

Little known fact about me, I love to plan. I regularly write down "self care" on my weekly planner spread. It’s written down, and I do engage in some form of self care, but I never have a specific plan for carrying it out, until now. Thanks to Lovet Planners  for gifting me this beautiful Self Care planner!  It's the planner that I didn't know that I needed. I have self care journals, but I never had a self care planner. This beautiful planner is a game changer. It’s very intentional about self care planning. It’s filled with self care ideas, monthly self care calendars, and self care goal setting. I think my favorite feature is the gratitude journaling list. I absolutely love the inspiring affirmations, they leave you motivated and encouraged to put yourself first. Since it’s a new month, I plan to start fresh and be more intentional with self care. I’m looking forward to what it will bring! If you would like your own Self Care planner, you can use my link to save o...

Well-Being: Why I got my Flu Shot~

Hello, Dolls! As you know cold and winter season is upon us. Although, I haven't gotten sick in a long time, I'm still making sure that I boost my immune system to protect myself from getting sick.  Taking  supplements daily is one of the ways I’m protecting myself this winter season. In addition to taking supplements, I also got my flu shot. #ad Here’s why: I’ve had the flu when I was younger, and it’s not something I want to experience again. The pandemic has kept me away from my loved ones enough. I don’t want another illness to get in the way of me seeing them.  Better health and well-being is always the goal for me…so that I can live well and do the things that I really love to do. The Facts: 1 in the 3 people with the flu don’t show any symptoms, but can spread it to others. Many healthcare experts expect this year’s flu season to be worse because fewer people were exposed to it last year. ️It’s a lot of food for thought, but I encourage you to consider getti...

My Phrase for 2022!

Hello, Dolls!  Can you believe it's 2022, and it's only two more weeks left in January? Time is moving along. I hope the year is starting off well for all of you. Each year, I pick a word or phrase that I use as my own personal affirmation for the remainder of the year. Last year, it was unbothered . This year, I chose "rise above." I chose rise above because life has it's share of uncertainties, drama, stress, negativity, anxiety and fear. A lot of times, my mind gets stuck in the spiral of dwelling on these events and emotions. I'm trying look past the negative, and to look for hope and positivity. I wanted a quick phrase to remind myself to shift my thinking from the negative cycle, and push forward...essentially, move on. I can also be my own enemy, worst critic, and harshest judge. So, I feel that rise above is an appropriate statement for me to remind myself to get out of my own head and move forward. I'm slowly and surely working on improving my t...

Finding My Way Back-Outfit of the Day!

Hello, Dolls! Happy December! I hope you all are doing fine!  Lately, as far as fashion is concerned, I've been uninspired to create anything. Hence, the title of this post, "finding my way back." My lack of inspiration is a combination of a lot of things: stress, lack of motivation, no creativity, etc. I've decided to take a brief break; and then come back with some new content, and hopefully, new creativity. In the meantime, here's a look that I put together in October.  An easy poncho, vegan leather pants, and heeled boots are all stylish components for a fabulous Fall look. They all came together wonderfully in this outfit! Of course, I have to have my accessories. I couldn't wait to wear this quilted leather bag from Kate Spade. I got the bag from Uptown Cheapskate , it's my favorite thrift store! I like wearing ponchos loosely; but for this look, I wanted the fit and flare look. So, I added a vegan leather belt to cinch my waist.  What I'm Wear...

A Weekend in NYC! (Travel Diary)

Hello, Dolls! ✨ I spent last weekend in NYC! The primary reason for going was to attend the Makeup Show. I had planned to go up on the bus and come back home that night, but my sister preferred the more relaxed option of staying over. That week leading up to the trip was so draining, so I couldn't thank her more for choosing to stay over. We stayed for a day and a half. For some reason, I feel that you need at least two to three days to feel relaxed and refreshed when getting away. This trip proved me so wrong. I felt so refreshed, it felt like we were there longer.  Accommodations We stayed at Springhill Suites Manhattan/Times Square . I chose that option because it was a discounted rate for makeup show attendees of $169 per night, which is a great deal for a hotel in NYC. Our stay was very pleasant; the hotel was located close to everything that we needed. The staff were very courteous and accommodating. We arrived early on our arrival day. We planned to leave our bags at ...

The Makeup Show NYC 2021 ~ My Experience!

Hello, Dolls! I attended The Makeup Show in NYC over the weekend! I haven't been in years, since before the pandemic. As you can imagine, I was excited to attend! For those that don't know, The Makeup Show is a makeup convention held annually for makeup artists and the like. In addition to the educational seminars held for learning, you can also purchase makeup and essentials, at a pro discount.  The Details You can choose to attend one day or both days, I chose to attend on Saturday. The show was held for vaccinated attendees only. All brands and exhibitors were required to be vaccinated as well. Proof of vaccination (at least one shot) had to be shown upon entry. This happened to be my first event amongst a large crowd since Covid, so there was a measure of anxiety that I had, but it turned out well. I also chose to wear my mask the entire time, except to take the occasional pic.  At the show, there are several seminars and workshops (both free and for a fee) to furt...
