My Latest Beauty Read...

I usually read a beauty book at least once a month to keep up with the latest beauty trends and to sharpen my makeup skills. I'm reading Instyle's Ultimate Beauty Secrets . I love reading my monthly subscription to Instyle, so I had to read this book. It was recommended to me by one of my coworkers since she knows I'm a beauty junkie...thanks Kibbi, hope she's reading this. This book features tips, tricks and short cuts to create the perfect look. It's broken up into sections: skin, foundation and concealer, cheeks, eyes, lips and nails plus some extras. Why it's helpful? It includes advice from makeup artists, celebrities, dermatologists and beauty editors who have  learned personally from experience what works and what doesn't work. It has some of the most beautiful and colorful pictures, I read a beauty book last month that had all black and white pictures....come on now, really?! One of the most beautiful things about beauty is color! How can ...

*Updated* Everyday/Workplace Makeup Look

A little while I go, I did my everyday work /place makeup look...that look has changed, so; I wanted to show my updated everyday look that I wear to work. I work at a library (library's are definitely not as conservative as a lot of people think as far as beauty and style) I can definitely wear color there, but; I choose to wear a more subdued makeup look. Here is the look... Products I wear daily: MAC SELECT COVER UP CONCEALER I wear this concealer in NC45, it gives just the right amount of coverage for my dark circles and acne scars without looking made up. It provides a satin, natural finish...perfect for the office. MAC BLOT POWDER IN DARK To set the concealer, I apply this blot powder. I don't like to look to matte, so; I apply this powder only to the ...

Hey Glamour Dolls, It feels like a while that I've posted, I've been busy with an important project that's been taking up my time both mentally and physically...that explains the lack of posts, but; I did manage to have some much needed fun this past weekend at Jill Scott's Block Party Concert! I saw Jill Scott last year with Maxwell and she was great but this year she was AMAZING! She's a great performer! Such raw talent and fantastic voice. Her Block Party included Mint Condition, Anthony Hamilton, DJ Jazzy Jeff and Doug E. Fresh... the concert had an old school, neo soul and r'b feel.  The concert was not that far from where I live at the Verizon Center in Washington, DC. Here are the pics! Getting ready!
