Seven Hours in NYC ~ Travel Diary (Pic Heavy)

Hi Dolls,  I visited New York last week. I was there for seven hours, it was a short but very sweet trip. I went to attend a Beauty Brunch hosted by the Makeup Show. Along the way, my friend and I arranged to take a candle making class. I've been wanting to attend one for so long, I was glad to finally go. I also wanted to visit Times Square, I hadn't been in over ten years. So, we made a pit stop there before heading home. Check out the pictures and the captions for the details! ✨ Wick and Pour Candle Making Class My friend found out about  Wick and Pour  on Tiktok. We bought our tickets from their website, the tickets start at $50. Our tickets were around $68 after taxes and fees. The classes last for about an hour. There are two locations in NYC. The location we attended is 277 Bleecker Street New York, 10014.  You can pick two scents for your candle, I chose Mediterranean Fig + Solar Sands  After picking our scents, we measured and poured them into th...

Take the Trip!

I'm a serious planner, and I rarely do anything last minute or unplanned. Last month, I took a last minute trip to see a friend in Illinois. Believe it or not, that trip was a milestone for me because I always plan my trips down to the last detail. I had so much anxiety about it. I kept thinking about how much money the flight was since I booked last minute, (I kept saying "I pay bill money with this") and how much I was going to have to spend there. Plus, I got sick a few days leading up to it, I just felt like all of these reasons were enough to cancel the trip. I went back and forth in my head about it, and finally, I remembered that traveling (for me) is a form of self care. I also remembered that life is really what you make it. So, I decided to be spontaneous for once and I went. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed this trip!  Everything that I was anxious about didn't happen. I truly enjoyed spending time with my friend (which I knew I would). She lives i...

A Weekend in NYC! (Travel Diary)

Hello, Dolls! ✨ I spent last weekend in NYC! The primary reason for going was to attend the Makeup Show. I had planned to go up on the bus and come back home that night, but my sister preferred the more relaxed option of staying over. That week leading up to the trip was so draining, so I couldn't thank her more for choosing to stay over. We stayed for a day and a half. For some reason, I feel that you need at least two to three days to feel relaxed and refreshed when getting away. This trip proved me so wrong. I felt so refreshed, it felt like we were there longer.  Accommodations We stayed at Springhill Suites Manhattan/Times Square . I chose that option because it was a discounted rate for makeup show attendees of $169 per night, which is a great deal for a hotel in NYC. Our stay was very pleasant; the hotel was located close to everything that we needed. The staff were very courteous and accommodating. We arrived early on our arrival day. We planned to leave our bags at ...

My Travel Essentials!

Hello, Dolls The warmer weather is finally here! I, like many others, like to travel more when the weather is warmer. I've compiled an updated list of travel essentials that I take with me on trips. I did a post like this three years ago, and some of the items I took were just unnecessary. As I travel more, and as I get older, I use a more minimalist approach to packing. Below you'll find my current travel essentials! White Noise App Little known fact about me, I've been sleeping with the White Noise App for years now. I have insomnia, and the White Noise app plays a variety of relaxing sounds to help you fall asleep faster. I have the app installed on my phone and Ipad, and literally can not sleep without it. My favorite sound is the Stream Water Flowing sound. White Noise also allows you to mix sounds to create a custom sound. On my Ipad (pictured), it mixes Stream Water Flowing and Thunder to create a unique, relaxing mix. Perfume Roller balls Instead...
