Summer Favorites in Skincare, Makeup + Accesories!

Summer is finally here! I've been looking forward to summer since spring time. I have been on a clothing and accessory craze, while choosing a minimalist approach to makeup. I'll explain why. Here is my short list and mini review of a few items that I've been loving.  Mobile Oasis-Oat & Black Soap I'm a product junkie when it comes to skin care because I'm always searching for a cleanser to prevent and treat my adult acne. No matter what I try, I keep coming back to African Black soap. I noticed that when I use it, my breakouts are minimal. Plus, an added benefit is that it's not drying on the skin; and over time, it lightens acne scarring. I bought this liquid Black Soap from Mobile Oasis, not only am I impressed with the skin results, I'm also impressed with the formula and the generous amount in the bottle. It's $12 for a 16 oz bottle. Sephora Lip Stains Because of the pandemic, I have developed a minimalist approach to makeup. ...

Sephora Skin Care Haul...

I made a goal this year (as I do every year) to take better care of my skin. I bought a few things from Sephora online, read on for the deets.  Clarisonic - The Clarisonic has been on my wish list for at least a year. I finally buckled down and purchased one. I bought the Clarisonic Mia, which is the most inexpensive one ($119) in the Clarisonic family. It comes with the sensitive brush head, charger, instruction manaul and a 1 oz cleanser. I have been using this for almost a week & I'm so in love with this little thing...I will save all of my wonderful comments about it for the review.  I will be doing a full review after I used it for a while. I could have went to the local Sephora to purchase the Clarisonic but they don't always give me the VIB points, so; I bought it online...the more points you get, the more free items & samples you get. Origins Clay Mask - This was the item that I got for free for reaching over 100 points. I could h...

Haul: Wet n Wild, Burts Bees, Sephora and more! (Pic Heavy)

I haven't done a haul in a while and since most of my IMATS purchases for next month will be for my kit, I figured I would pick up a couple of things for myself. My haul starts with Walgreens... can you guess what I wanted to buy there? Wet n Wild palettes! The nearest Walgreens is a little ways from where I live, but since I was in that area I decided to stop and browse. I picked up the Wet n Wild 8 pan palette in Blue Had me at Hello ($4.99), that was the only palette that I wanted because I love blue and green eyeshadows. I saw a few of the trio palettes there but I had most of the colors in other palettes-there was no need to buy duplicate colors. Blue Had me at Hello swatches... I also browsed Walgreens clearance rack and found Jordana lip liners on clearance for $1 each. I bought mauve and spice. Next up is Burt's Bees... I've never tried Burt's Bees but heard good reviews about their products. I was actually buying body butter for a friend who has s...

A Day in NYC- Blue and Brown Look

A few weeks ago I went to Soho, New York with a few friends for a Natural Hair Show. I wanted to do a simple look but I also wanted to wear some lipstick, I normally just wear gloss. Look of the Day-Green and Brown

GREEN AND BROWN I did this look last week. I was inspired by my green blouse. Green is my favorite color to use when doing eyeshadow (especially an all green look) because it layers so beautifully and you can always see how each green color blends into the other green color seamlessly. I used 4 shadows all together. I did a bit of experimenting with contouring and this was my first time using 2 shades of foundation to combat my two-tone skin, which turned out nice, surprisingly. My brows need to be done again, so excuse how they look. I didn't do any close up pics because of acne breakouts, (still struggling with adult acne) agrrh!  Products Used What I used: -Mac Oil Control Lotion -Mac Face and Body Foundation in C6 on inner part of my face (my skin is 2 different shades) -Mac Face and Body Foundation in C7 on outter part of my face -Mac Blotting Powder in Dark -Mac Format Blush to contour nose and cheeks -Elf brow kit in Medium -Mac Rubenesque (g...

Sephora Colorful Artist Palette Warm

Another review of new makeup that I bought! I bought this palette because most of the eye palettes and shadows that I have are cool colors and I needed to purchase a warm color palette to enhance my makeup collection/kit. After browsing Sephora's website,(http://www.Sephora.com) I decided to buy this palette. It's the Limited Edition Sephora Colorful Artist Palette Warm. The value is $51 but it's priced at $32. The shadows are dime-sized but will still go a long way. I have not tried the colors yet because I just received it today in the mail but already I can tell the colors are not that highly pigmented meaning that the color payoff will not be as intense as I normally like my eye shadow. But have no fear because they are ways to getting around this. I will most likey have to use a white base as my primer on my entire eye area from lash line to brow bone. A white base on the eyes makes lighter colors or even dull colors POP! The result is the color is more vibrant an...
