May is Mental Health Awareness Month~ 💚

World Mental Health Awareness Month  Mental health matters, not just today, but every day.   This month is a reminder to slow down, check in with ourselves, and give ourselves and others grace too. The ocean is my calm, my reset, and one of my safe places.   We all deserve something that grounds us when life feels heavy. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, please know you’re not alone. Healing isn’t linear. Rest is productive. Asking for help is strength. Take time for yourself. Check in on your loved ones. Protect your peace.   Even though, there are only a few days left in May, now is still a good time to check in with yourself.  Mental health is deeply personal to me. One day, I’ll share my story, until then, I’ll continue advocating and encouraging others to choose themselves too.  ️ What’s your safe space or favorite way to reset?

Rooted ~ My Word for 2026! 💚

Rooted 💚 Even though, 2026 is well along, I've chosen rooted as my word for this year. This is the year that I'm aiming to show up consistently, gently, and honestly, without abandoning myself in the process. 💫Rooted in who I am 💫Rooted in my peace 💫Rooted in my growth 💫Rooted in my worth. Grounded. Steady. Becoming. 🤍 If you've chosen a word or phrase for 2026, please share.

World Mental Health Day: Spreading Awareness and Support 💚

Hi Dolls, World Mental Health Day   was on October 10th. I shared a post about it on Instagram that day, but since this topic is so close to my heart, I want to make sure the message reaches all of my platforms. Mental health matters — every single day. Since the pandemic, I've noticed that my mental bandwidth was beginning to become fragile. I've been working on increasing my resilience and coping skills. I've made a list of things that I like to do when when I have those moments. I've also identified my happy places that help me feel safe.   We all need a place that grounds us.  The ocean is that place for me. It's my calm and my reset.   It’s truly humbling and fills me with awe. There’s something about watching the ocean that brings my problems into perspective  If you’re like me, and you feel overwhelmed at times, please know you’re not alone. Healing takes time. Rest is essential. Talking helps.  Take time for yourself. Check in on yo...

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month 🎀

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.🎀This is your gentle reminder to schedule your annual mammogram if you're in the recommended age range. Early detection makes all the difference in the outcome. I had my first mammogram recently, and while it might feel daunting, I want to share my experience: mild discomfort, but the technician's kindness made all the difference. 💕Prioritizing your health is a form of self-love. ✨Take care of yourself-your future self will appreciate it.  Did you get #theMammo?

Well-Being ~ My Favorite form of Exercise

I’m almost six months in to my recommitted healthy lifestyle journey. In that time, I've been making a consistent effort to stay active. Walking has been my exercise of choice.  I enjoy a calorie burning cardio walk, but when I'm unable to do that, I make sure to at least do a brisk walk regularly.  Walking has  so many benefits.  It improves my mood, gives me clarity, burns calories and improves my stamina. It ha s really helped me physically and mentally.  I’ve come to view my walking time as not only exercise, but also therapeutic "me time."   What's your favorite form of exercise?

Well-Being ~ Recommitting to a Healthy Lifestyle!

“Your body can stand almost anything. It’s your mind that you have to convince.” ⁣ ⁣ Hi Dolls,  I've wrote about my overall well-being journey before and how it's an ongoing journey for me. Today, I will talk about the physical aspect of that journey. I’ve recommitted to my healthy lifestyle journey, (again) I’ve reflected on the above quote a lot.  I’ve been back and forth on this journey since 2021, and (honestly) this is the most consistent that I’ve been and the most weight that I’ve loss. ⁣I really feel like this time I'm more determined, and I know my "why" reason for recommitting and staying on this journey.  ⁣ So, what’s been helping me: ⁣ Tracking all of my food⁣, I use my Weight Watchers app for this.  Portion control, I limit myself to one portion ⁣ Walking, whether it’s cardio or a brisk walk⁣ Eating intentionally, I no longer eat to pass time, or just because food is there. ⁣ I will admit, this is not always easy. As I type this, I'm craving ...

In my Peaceful Era ~ My Word for 2024!

Happy Spring, Dolls! 🌷 Each year, I reflect on what I want for the year. This year, I turned another decade older, so I did a lot of reflection on what I want I no longer want to carry into this new decade of my life.  One of the things that I desire for myself the most is peace. It is my hope that peace will not just be limited to being my word for 2024, my desire is for it to become a core attribute to my inner well-being.  I want: ⁣ ⁣ more peace with myself⁣ ⁣ to do more of what brings more peace⁣ ⁣ to disconnect from anything that disturbs my peace ⁣ ⁣ ⚡️ Peace is my word for 2024. If you’ve chosen a word or phrase for this year, please share.

Well-Being ~ It's Time for my Annual Flu Shot

Hi Dolls, It’s that time of the year when I schedule my annual flu shot. As part of my ongoing well-being journey, I’ve been consistently getting my flu shot annually. Here’s why: I want to stay healthy so that I don’t miss out any important events in my loved ones lives, like getting dressed up and going out to different events with my mom (pictured). The older I get, the longer it takes me to recover from being sick. My last cold lasted for  two weeks.     I don’t want to risk getting sick again this season. Getting a flu shot is the best way to protect myself and my loved ones from the flu because it can help lessen the severity of flu symptoms if I do get sick. The Facts: Did you know you can still spread the flu even if you don't have symptoms? Getting a flu shot helps protect your loved ones from getting sick, especially those most vulnerable like young kids and older ones.  If you’re considering getting a flu shot, get it as soon as you can. It takes ab...

Take the Trip!

I'm a serious planner, and I rarely do anything last minute or unplanned. Last month, I took a last minute trip to see a friend in Illinois. Believe it or not, that trip was a milestone for me because I always plan my trips down to the last detail. I had so much anxiety about it. I kept thinking about how much money the flight was since I booked last minute, (I kept saying "I pay bill money with this") and how much I was going to have to spend there. Plus, I got sick a few days leading up to it, I just felt like all of these reasons were enough to cancel the trip. I went back and forth in my head about it, and finally, I remembered that traveling (for me) is a form of self care. I also remembered that life is really what you make it. So, I decided to be spontaneous for once and I went. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed this trip!  Everything that I was anxious about didn't happen. I truly enjoyed spending time with my friend (which I knew I would). She lives i...

Well-Being: Why I continue to get my Flu Shot ~

Hi Dolls, As some of you may know, I've been documenting my well-being journey on here for a while, probably over a year now. I’ve been taking small steps to enhance my overall well-being, especially as I approach the next decade of my life.  I’ve added getting an annual flu shot to my well-being check list so that I can continue to stay healthy, do the things that bring me happiness (especially traveling  ) and be around the ones I love. The Facts: You may think, it's too late to get your flu vaccine but it's not. It can help protect you and your community this spring, and you’ll have full protection about two weeks after the vaccine. ️To #getyourflushot, visit Stopflu.org .  #Ad #stopflu

My Word for 2023!

Hi Dolls,  I hope 2023 is starting off well for you all. I didn't plan on my first post of the year to be in late February, but you know how it goes... life (as good as it is) gets in the way. 😉 If you've been reading my posts for a while, you may know that I choose a new word or affirmation that sets the tone for my year. I really like that it gives me something to reflect on and to work on through out the year.  This year, I was torn between two words, which were consistency and grace. I thought long about it. Then, I started thinking that on my most stressful and busiest days, I ask myself “what do I need most from myself today?” The answer is usually grace. I also thought about how I am with others. I try my best to give others the benefit of the doubt, but sometimes that doesn't always happen. Usually when you're hard on yourself, you're hard on others. I know this because I experience this myself. So, my goal is to let go of being a perfectionist and to not...
