Started from a Signed Petition, Now We Here! MAC x Aaliyah Collection Haul!!!

Hello, Dolls! As you probably already know by now that Mac released an Aaliyah collection in the summer. I, for one, was elated! I have been an Aaliyah fan since I was young. I've always loved her music! I was enamored with her style- which was edgy and fly. Her style was the personification of tomboy chic, but she was always a lady. Her untimely death was shocking and hurtful to say the least. Nevertheless, I'm still an Aaliyah fan, and her music is always on rotation in my car and Ipod.  When I first heard rumors of there being a petition for Mac to create a  makeup collection for her, I was skeptical; but, after doing research, I found out that it was legit. I signed that petition back in 2016, (which reached over 26,000 signatures) and finally I heard news of the upcoming collection! Seeing that I'm a big Mac and Aaliyah fan, purchasing from this collection was a must! I knew before seeing it that I wanted to get everything; but, my bank account...

Queen of Hearts Look of the Day!

Hello, Dolls I have been shopping from my makeup stash, (rediscovering products that I've had for a while, but don't use often) and I have fallen in love with the Coloured Raine: Queen of Hearts eyeshadow palette. The foil eyeshadows are so amazingly pigmented; and the shadows blend so effortlessly. I wondered why I haven't used it more. Most of the eyeshadows that I used in this look are from that palette. Here is a quick selfie pic of the look I did. Brows -Mac Spiked Brow pencil Eyes  -Too Faced Shadow insurance as eye primer -Heir shadow as highlight -Your Majesty shadow on half of the lid -Copper-red shadow from Juvia's Place Nubian 1 palette -Ladyship shadow in crease -Royal Perogative shadow as transition color -The Balm Schwing liquid eyeliner -Danessa Myricks Thrive 02 lashes -Danessa Myricks Lock on lash glue Face -Embryolisse Lait-Cre'me Concentre' as face primer -Mac Studio Finish concealer NC45 -Black Opal Liquid Pore Perf...

Concert OOTD!

Hello Dolls, I attended a Trey Songz concert a week ago, the concert was everything!!! I'm a huge fan of Trey Songz; my sisters and I have to see him EVERY time he comes to town! I originally bought a black ruffle neck, off the shoulder jumpsuit to wear to the concert. It fitted smaller than I thought :-( At the very last minute, I had to wear something I already had. Below is what I put together! I originally meant for this post to be a look of the day, but, I wasn't able to get decent pics of my makeup like I wanted. Outfit and makeup deets at the bottom. Downtown DC Drinks and Dinner before the show! #sangria Recording Artist, MikexAngel opened up the show! Special guest, Justine Darcenne graced us with her beautiful voice! What I'm Wearing: -Dress: Thrifted (original tag says The Avenue ) -Gold Beaded sandals: Rainbow Clothing -Body Chain: Lcapri -Rings: Vivi Jewelry -Earrings and Bracelets: Fashion to Figure What's on my Face...

5 Products I thought I wouldn't like but I love! (Mini Review)

Hey, Dolls! Here are five products that I bought thinking that they would disappoint...but I've used them and found uses for them; and will definitely buy again. This is a mini review, so I will make this quick and to the point. 1. Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash   I've tried several cleansers for acne and none of them really did what they claim. I tried this because it was oil free but I really didn't think it would do the job. It's a really good cleanser; and after using it, my breakouts are very rare. I broke out several times a week (regularly) before using this cleanser and since using it my breakouts are months apart; and when they come they don't stay around at all...they are gone in a day or two. It's made with salicylic acid that treats breakouts and prevents new breakouts from forming.  2. Missy Lynn Eyeshadow and Baked Highlighters Palette I follow Missy Lynn on You Tube and Instagram and saw her promoting her ...

The Bucket List Haul!

Hello Glamour Dolls, As usual, I purchased most of the items because of sales that I couldn't pass up. This will be my last haul for a while because I have a true excess of everything and I have hit my makeup bucket list. I will share with you my bucket list items later on in the post. As usual, my hauls include mini reviews. If you would like a full review on an item, leave a comment. Read on for the deets. Wink and Pout I've blogged about Kym Lee before and her own personal makeup brand and how much I like the products. Kym Lee always has a good sale. I bought two lipsticks from her and three glosses. I bought Red Bottoms lipstick, which is a burgundy-red with red sparkles. Top Row Left to Right: Empire Red and Red Bottoms Bottom Row Left to Right: G-String, Lovestruck and In Love with my Ex I also bought Empire Red (which is named after the show). Kym Lee is also Taraji P. Henson's makeup artist on the show, Empire! Incidentally, part of the proceeds o...

Top 5 Faves of 2014 (Skin, Hair and Makeup)

Hey Glamour Dolls! Can't believe there are only two weeks left in the year! These are my top five products that I've consistently used throughout the year and I've repurchased over and over again. Read on, and I"ll tell you why I love them. 1. Mac Studio Moisture Cream Moisturizer I originally bought this moisturizer in a travel sized version to sample. The cream is light weight and very moisture rich. It gives my skin a nice radiance and leaves my skin supple. It works wonders in the Fall/Winter months because my skin drinks up moisturizer in the cooler months. I've used other moisturizers and I would put it on and you couldn't tell that I put anything on thirty minutes later; with this moisturizer, it stays on longer. I liked it so much that I went on and bought the full size version. 2. Clarisionic Skin Care System The Clarisonic skin care system is a must-have holy grail product for me! I have blemished, acne prone skin and I can ...

Pink Bordello (LOTD)

I'm back with another look! I decided to do a look using mostly products that I recently hauled in the last few months, besides four products; everything mentioned was recently purchased.  I'm seriously trying to use everything I buy. I was inspired by the pink blouse I was wearing and I decided to use Urban Decay's Bordello (pale mauve with gold micro-glitter) eyeshadow as my main color, it came out being a melange of a pink frosty look. I was feeling extra, so I wore some lashes! Take a look for yourself :-) Products Used Brows -Anastasia Beverly Hills dip brow pomade in Auburn -Mac Select Cover Up concealer NC45 to clean up brows Eyes -Lorac Behind the Scenes eyeshadow primer -Lorac Nectar e/s as highlight -Lorac Light Brown e/s as transition color -Lorac Cool Gray e/s as crease color -Urban Decay Bordello e/s on lid -Maybelline Ultra Liner black liquid liner on upper lash line -Wink and Pout Baby Doll lashes by Kym Lee -Eylure Lashfix...

Mac Pro Class: Highlighting and Contouring Recap

Hey Dolls, I had the opportunity to take a Mac Pro Class this year! There were two in my area this year, I took the highlighting and contouring class at the Pentagon City Mac store in Arlington, VA; a few weeks ago. FYI, the classes are cheaper now; this one was $25 for two hours and non redeemable in product. The price used to be $100 and fully redeemable in product. The class was taught by Mac Senior Artist, Regan Rabanal . He taught us his tips and tricks and he did two demos on two women with different skin types and complexions to show how he uses a variety of techniques and products based on the client's needs. Here are a few tips that I learned: 1. One contouring technique doesn't fit all. Consider the face shape and texture of skin. Someone who already has a slim, narrow face will not need as much contouring as someone who has a round face. It also helps to observe the skin to see where the natural highlight and contours are already forming. On s...
