Photo shoot Makeup (LOTD)

Hello Glamour Dolls! It has been some months since I posted, so much has been going on. I have done some traveling, still working full-time and I've been busy with my two side hustles. In the midst of everything, I have been keeping up with the beauty world, thanks to You Tube and Instagram. Recently, I did my first photo shoot last June and my second photo shoot I did a few weeks ago and it features...yours truly. Here is the makeup that I did on myself for the shoot. The actual pictures of the shoot are not available yet (these are the pics I took with my own camera), but when they are available; I'll post them. Beauty Loves of 2012

Hey, Glamour Dolls I've loved a lot of products within the year, some you all have heard me blog about a lot, others not so much. Here are a few products that stayed in my makeup bag all year. 1. Mac Select Cover Up concealer NC44 -This concealer is liquid form and is good for covering up blemishes and dark circles. It provides a medium coverage, often times I only wore this concealer with powder because the coverage is very comparable to foundation. What I love the most, is it provides a "my skin but better" finish; never cakey or mask like. 2. Maybelline Fit Me foundation 320 - I didn't readily jump on this product when it first came out, but; since I'm a coupon queen & I received a $2 off coupon for this, I went out and bought it. I didn't wear foundation much this past year, but; when I did-I wore this foundation. It has excellent airbrush like coverage, it lasts all day and despite some of the reviews-it didn't make my skin oily. It h...

Elf Makeup Mist and Set Review

I love that Elf is always adding new products to their collection. When I heard that they came up with a makeup setting spray-I had to give it a try and see if it lives up to its claims. Since the spray is only $3, it really was no brainer... to see if this product is a hit or miss, keep reading :-) PRODUCT CLAIMS " Wish you could have a product for your makeup like Hairspray is for your hair? Well…keep your makeup staying in place all day with a radiance boosting invisible hold with our new Makeup Mist and Set. The invigorating mist moisturizes and soothes the skin with key ingredients Aloe, Green Tea, Cucumber and Vitamins A, C & E. The lightweight, comfortable and alcohol free formula improves makeup wearability and prevents color from running or fading." PROS -Very cheap, only $3 -Can be bought at Target or online from Elf. -Small enough to be carried on the go: pocket, purse or cosmetic bag. -Doesn't have a harsh smell. MY THOUGHTS So fa...

Half Baked Look of the Day

Here is a look I did yesterday using my Naked 1 palette that I won last month! This is a natural eye look, using three shadows with a pink lip (I know... Wet n Wild Silent Treatment (LOTD)

This is a look I did a few days ago, using all the colors from the Silent Treatment Wet n Wild palette that I won! I really like the palette, but; I don't know how I feel about my entire look...you know how we are our own worst critic?! I love wearing lashes now and I'm just now learning that as much as you love a pair of lashes you can only wear them about 4 times. I really love my Miss Adoro 415 lashes, I wore them so much that they look a mess, I had to throw them away-thankfully, I bought an extra pair :-) Anywho, here is the look... I'm experimenting with photo editing! PRODUCTS USED Eyes -Avon glimmersticks brow definer dark brown -Elf eyelid primer -pink e/s on browbone as highlight -matte brown e/s from the Wet n Wild Vanity palette as a transition color -lilac puple e/s on lid -black e/s in crease -Black Radiance creme liner in black on upper lashline -Mac Engraved powerpoint pencil eyeliner on lower lashline -Miss Ad...

Accidentally Neutral LOTD

I went out a few days ago and a friend asked me to do a full face of makeup...I wasn't feeling the best but she talked me into it and I did it for her. The colors I used were a sheer pink e/s on my lid and brown in my crease...it didn't turn out the way I wanted, so; I kept blending and this is what I came up with... a neutral eye. I will do the original look over. I was in SO much pain in this pic, I still managed to smile :-) PRODUCTS USED Eyes -Elf e/s primer -no name sheer pink e/s on lid -no name brown e/s on crease -no name beige e/s as eye highlight -Elf plum liquid liner -L'oreal Voluminous mascara in black -Mac Engraved powerpoint eyeliner Face -Mac Prep + Prime face -Mac Select Cover up Concealer NC45 -Bobbi Brown corrector in Peach -Mac Studio Fix plus powder foundation C6 -Black Radiance warm berry baked blush Lips -NYX chestnut liner -Mac Viva Glam Gaga lipstick I More LOTD's to come!

$5 and below Beauty... (Blushin by Elf)

I am a blush diva all the way! I can't pass up a beautiful blush, especially if it's affordable. One of my fave affordable brands, Elf, offers great blushes that are extremely cheap and offer a decent quality. Elf  describes their studio blushes as... "The soft sheer texture blends into the skin for a silky finish. Designed to be worn alone or layered for more depth. Highlight your complexion with a subtle healthy glow"  Elf now has a total of 11 studio blushes, I had 5 of the 11 but now I have 4. Here are my faves from their collection. My thoughts... I love the price of these blushes, they are $3. I also found out that the Dollar Store is starting to carry Elf products and I found one of the blushes there for $1, couldn't have been more happier. The pigmentation of the colors is decent. Depending on how long I've had the blush, I've noticed that it becomes somewhat chalky. The wearability of these blushes are excellent, they last and last...

Elf Zit Zapper Review

Even in my late twenties (it pains me to say late twenties...ugh!) I'm still battling with adult acne, I'm really starting to think it'll never go away. I'm always on the look out for acne fighting products that help to treat and prevent acne flareups. I was watching a You Tube video and in the video she was raving about Elf's Zit Zapper, since I'm a fan of Elf products I thought I would give it a try. Here are my thoughts... PRODUCT CLAIMS "Zap zits away with the unique blend of Salicylic Acid, Tea Tree Oil, Witch Hazel and Camphor. This special clear formula helps to fight and prevent acne, reduce redness and swelling, minimize pore size and clear skin." PROS -Very affordable, only $1. -Can be easily purchased at Elf's website or Target stores. -Very small size, fits in your pocket or cosmetic bag. -It's 0.2 fl oz but lasts a long time. -Reduces redness from pimples. CONS -Because of the medicine and other ingredients in i...

My Summer Beauty Routine...

Hi Glamour Dolls! I'm loving the warmer temperatures and all of the cute clothes and accessories that summer brings but as much as I love the warmer weather the heat and perspiration causes me to simplify my beauty routine.  Here is my simplified beauty regimen and a few of my most loved products for this time of year. SKIN FIXERS  From left to right: Mac Fix Plus, Mac Oil Control lotion and Avon Blot sheets... To combat the extra oil my skin produces in the summer I apply Mac Oil Control lotion every day to reduce the oil on my skin. I apply a lot around my nose and forehead because this is where I retain the most oil. To get rid of the midday shine I use Avon Oil blotting sheets. I love these sheets because they take away the shine without ruining my makeup. I also use my beloved Mac Fix Plus to refresh my skin for those humid and sticky days. FOUNDATION I really don't wear foundation in the summer a lot unless I'm making a special appearance or ...

Think Pink-Look of the Day

It's been a while since I've done a "real" LOTD... my brows finally grew back in and look descent so I'm back to my normal makeup routine. This is a look I did on Sunday, it was inspired by my pink wrap-dress, so I decided to stay with the pink theme. I was going to wear lashes but I was running  late... I'll wear them for my next look. PRODUCTS USED Eyes -Elf brow kit in medium -Mac Painterly paint pot -Bslap cosmetics hot pink eyeshadow on my lid -Mac Saddle eyeshadow as crease color -Mac Ricepaper eyeshadow as highlight color -Urban Decay  24/7 glide on eye liner in zero -Maybelline Falsies mascara Face -MUFE HD Foundation in 173 -MUFE HD Invisible powder -Elf Pink Passion blush Lips -Mac Nightmoth lip liner -Mac Viva Gaga lipstick

What's in my Makeup Kit? New Monthly Feature

My poor little makeup kit, it's seen better days. I'm going to get a bigger one soon and lay old faithful to rest :) A good majority of my followers are makeup artists or aspiring makeup artists and part of the makeup I buy is for my makeup artistry kit, so... I thought it would be good to have a new monthly feature on " What's in my Kit?" Each month I will feature a few items that I use in my professional makeup artistry kit for clients. I hope this new feature will help makeup artists (aspiring and future artists) in their kit selections and hopefully it will aid them on finding out what products work and what doesn't work. The products that I use will also be great for makeup and beauty lovers! FOUNDATION Graftobian 18 neutral palette and 3 individual warm palettes. I thought it would be more cost effective to buy foundation palettes for my kit. A friend of mine who is a makeup artist referred Graftobian foundations to me. Their foundation pal...

My Top Beauty Products of 2010

Thanks to everyone who voted in this poll, the majority voted that "yes," I should do a post on my top beauty products of 2010. So, here are the products that I've been in love with for this year and can't get enough of using them. BODY MOISTURIZERS Love Spell and Passionate Kisses (discontinued) my favorite scents from Victoria's Secret I have fell back in love with Victoria's Secret Garden lotions. I used to buy these all the time years ago, in every fragrance but I stopped because I became a consultant for a self care and wellness company and I started using their body moisturizers... that company is closed now, so I went back to using these lotions. They smell beautifully and they make your body, especially my hands feel like silk. My favorite scent is Love Spell. I have had these bottles for a little while now... Victoria's Secret doesn't make the bottles like this anymore. Caribbean Ginger perfume essence body butter from Soul Purpose ...

Look of the Day-Feeling Blue... but I wore Red!

I did this look yesterday. I wasn't feeling in the best mood yesterday and whenever I don't feel good- I wear the color red... to me it's better than wearing black or blue when I'm down and since I couldn't wear my red dress, I had to settle for red lipstick.  I was rushing when I did this look (I forgot to put on mascara) and I intended it to be very simple... and it was. Products Used I used the 2 beige colors in my 88 neutral palette. FACE -Makeup for Ever Invisible HD foundation in 173 -Elf Candid Coral blush on apples of my cheeks EYES -shimmer beige color from the 88 neutral palette on my lid -matte beige color from the 88 neutral palette as my highlight -Mac Painterly paint pot as my eye base -Mac Engraved power point pencil as eye liner -Elf brow kit in medium (not pictured) LIPS -Loreal Infallible lip color: Beyonce Red

Look of the Day- My 10 minute face (Detailed)

I'm not a morning person... and I'm constantly hitting the snooze button, constantly rushing and always forgetting something and I never have time to put on any makeup but since I have so much makeup that desperately needs to be used...I had to find a makeup routine that would be quick and easy and would take me less than 10 minutes to apply it either before I go to work or at work in my office. I've finally mastered the routine. So here it goes. First, I do NOT wear a full-face of makeup to work every day because honestly I don't have the time and because I think it's important to give your skin breaks from wearing makeup all the time. Plus, I don't want people seeing me without makeup and not being able to recognize me. We've all seen celebrities without makeup at one time and thought "dang...is that them?" Yeah, I don't want people saying the same about me without makeup. Second, I have a designated "work makeup" stash, meaning...
