My Mac, NYX, Sugar Pill, Urban Decay & More Haul!

Hello All, Here is my latest makeup and beauty haul. I took advantage of some of the Black Friday sales and bought a few things. Read on for the deets! Nyx Eyeshadow Nyx had a really nice sale on their site last month. They had shadows for $1 and lip liners for $2. I have several eyeshadow palettes for my makeup kit but I wanted more neutral shades. I bought eight shadows all total, mostly neutrals and a few colorful shades for the kit. I also bought their taupe blush, I heard that it is a really good contour color for light and fair complexions. Swatches from left to right: Taupe blush, golden, irises, dark brown, hot pink, silk, hunter green, taupe e/s and walnut.  Mac Studio Conceal and Correct Palette I have also been needing a decent concealer palette for my makeup kit as well. I have individual concealers in darker colors but I needed some concealers in the medium range as well as color correctors. I chose to purchase the Mac medium/deep conceal and correc...

Makeup Kit Revamping!!! Part II (Before & After) Pic Heavy

In my last post I said that I was going to see if I could fit all of my makeup, tools and supplies into my Zuca backpack. There are lots of pics, I tried to create a collage for the pics but it wasn't working. Here are the results. Before These are the bags I was using before as my kit This is where most of my makeup was stored, in this train case. I had my brush belt, palettes, brush cleaner and misc items in my rolling case.  Beside the gray pouch are my sponges, disposable tools, mixing palette, lip rouge kits, removers and alcohol.  This gray pouch holds my foundations, concealers,  face primers,  powders, BB creams & tinted moisturizers. Brush belt, lip sticks, glosses, liners, pigments, glitters, cleaners, lashes and setting spray in this pile. After Everything fit! Yay!!! In my right side pocket, I have my wipes, setting spray and face primers. The inside holds everything so neatly. All of my...

Makeup Kit Revamping!!! Part I (Pic Heavy)

Hey, Glamour Dolls I've mentioned before that I've wanted to revamp my professional makeup kit. I've been inspired by the makeup trade shows that I've been attending, plus   I've completely out grown my current makeup kit. I bought a new Zuca Artist Backpack to revamp my kit. If you haven't heard of Zuca , they're a company that makes carry all cases and luggage for just about everyone. Zuca has an artist series for makeup artists and hair stylists that make hauling around a kit so much easier and convenient. I really wanted to purchase the Zuca rolling bag with the four plastic organizing pouches in it but it costs over $300, even though my makeup artistry business is growing, it doesn't justify buying a $300 carryall. So, I decided to buy the more cost effective backpack which is $129. Here are the pictures! It's a backpack but it comes with a handle to carry in your hand.  Front part that zips up from top to bottom.  The ...

Golden-Bronze Bridal Makeover + Kit Faves

Hello, Glamour Dolls :-) I did wedding makeup over the weekend. I was really excited because I've done smaller weddings in the past and this was my first big wedding! I'm glad I made it through the day without feeling tired or sluggish. The wedding colors were gold, burgundy and white...here are a few pics of me in action and some of the work I did. My work area...     My well-used makeup kit :-) Working on the bride... This is one of my dear friends, who was also a bridesmaid in the wedding. She doesn't wear foundation, so; I wanted it to be very light and natural. I used the  Mid Marigold color from the Graftobian Hd foundation palette and powder. On her eyes are: Satin Taupe, Woodwinked and Bamboo e/s by Mac. We did a light flush blush on her cheeks.. her brown contacts really made her eyes pop. The maid of honor was also a friend of mine. She wanted a natural look with some flair. I used the Sienna color from the ...

What's in My Kit?! (Brushes)

A good majority of my readers are makeup artists or aspiring makeup artists and part of the makeup/tools that I buy is for my makeup artistry kit, so... from time to time, I will feature a few items that I use in my professional makeup artistry kit for clients-hopefully this will give artists (both professional and aspiring) a good idea of what products work and what doesn't work. In order to achieve professional results in your makeup application, the proper tools are needed. One of the most important tools to use are makeup brushes...there are endless brands that offer makeup brushes in all different prices. The brands that you choose are completely up to you, but; you do want to make sure you include brushes for a complete makeup application-which should include eye and face brushes. My thoughts... My goal is to have enough sets of brushes so that I don't have to wash/reuse any of my brushes for large parties like wedding/bridal parties. I currently have en...
