Mac Pro Class 2012 - Bridal Beauty

I'm back with my Mac Pro class post. Here it is... Mac offers pro classes to its pro members a few times a year, there were two in my area; which was the Bridal Beauty and the Creating Drag makeup class. I really wanted to take the drag makeup class but it starts the same day that I leave for vacation. I hesitantly decided to take the Bridal Beauty class, the only reason that I was hesitant was because I had already taken the Mac Pro Bridal Beauty  class in 2010 before, I loved it, but; I wanted to learn something different. Since I was in a funk, I decided, why not?! I needed something to get me reinspired. Plus, my friend Lynette had been waiting to attend a Mac Pro class for a while, we hadn't took a makeup class together in 2 years...I had to go, it was like a mini reunion. Me and Lynette The class was great! Mac Senior Pro artist Fatima Thomas taught the class. Fatima has been in the makeup artistry biz for 18 years, she has all kinds of cel

Update & My Current Beauty Faves

Hey, Glamour Dolls! How are you all?! Long time no post...it feels good to finally write something on here. What's been going on with me? Just life. I've been busy and focused on a few things; which has been leaving me drained and given me a lack of desire to do anything else. Things have been all work and no play for a while and I'm finally getting my balance back again (sigh of relief!). Thankfully, I go on vacation in a few weeks. I hope to write a few more posts before I leave :-) As far as beauty news, I have been using products in my own stash-I have bought a few things here and there and I did purchase a big haul from a Mac Pro class I took the beginning of October (more about that in another post). Here are some of my faves that I've been using constantly using since the last time I posted. KISSABLE COUTURE GLOSSES I bought these glosses at The Makeup Show back in May and I've been loving them every since. The glosses are really long wea

Concert OOTD! (Outifit of the Day)

I went to see Jill Scott & Kem in concert (along with Salt n Pepa and Doug E Fresh) last week... the performances were amazing and the concert was so much fun! I've never done an OOTD before, so; I decided to post one for you all. Since it was a concert and it was hot (90+ degrees), I wanted to dress up, show some skin and still keep it classy all at the same time. Thanks to my friend, AC, for taking this pic :-) What I'm wearing: -One sided shoulder dress: Thrifted, for under $10! -Faux croc clutch: Ebay -Brown beaded sandals: Payless -Designer drops statement necklace: Cookie Lee Jewelry -Oversized shades: Retro City Sunglasses

Nail Trends I'm Loving....

I've always admired nail art, I always believe that well manicured, polished nails can enhance a woman's look and put the finishing touches to a chic outfit...especially when the hands are accompanied by beautiful hand jewelry. This year, there have been two nail trends that I've been in love with and I decided copy.  ACCENT NAILS The typical design accent nail trend is not new, there are plenty of women who get designs on any given nail(s) or even all of their nails, but; what is new is the the color blocking accent nail trend that I love.  Recently, I've seen women who will have the majority of their nails polished one color and maybe one or two nails polished another color on the opposite end of the color spectrum...it seems odd at first, but; it turns out beautiful. This is a great alternative for women who want a different look, but not necessarily a design...especially if you work in a conservative work environment.  Color blocking accent nail...

Mac Extra Dimension Highlighting Powders: Glorify & Whisper of Guilt (Review)

Hey, Glamour Dolls I am back with a long overdue review. Nicole from Girls Rates World  (so sorry it's late) asked for me to review this a while ago, I have been really busy with work and other obligations, which is the reason why there was such delay. I did a mini review on these powders in a haul post, for my initial thoughts-click HERE . Here are my final thoughts on these powders. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION “A liquid-powder highlighter with prismatic reflections that sculpts, highlights and models the face. The cool, creamy near-fluid formula creates a luminous, well-defined finish. The Makeup Show NYC: The Haul!

Part of the excitement of makeup trade shows are the products, this year, I picked up quite a few things. I made a list of everything that I wanted, but; you know how that works...you always end up getting a few extras that weren't on your list. Let me just say I love makeup (as you already know), so; I was extremely excited about EVERYTHING I purchased...let me warn you that I overuse the word excited in this post way to much. This show was like a buffet of makeup and of course I had to overindulge! I know I didn't need half of the stuff I bought but it was the thrill of it all! INGLOT Inglot was my first stop at TMS. They had a 30% off discount the same as they did last year at IMATS. They debuted some new body pigments, I passed on those since I already have so many pigments. I bought a small palette this time, consisting of four colors, last year I bought my 10 pan Inglot palette and I bought all shimmers in a rush...this time I took my time and bought all matte

The Makeup Show NYC: My Experience (Pic Heavy)

The Makeup Show was SIMPLY FAB.COM... there's something so wonderful about being in a room full of makeup artists and makeup enthusiasts. It was such an enjoyable experience, it was everything I thought it would turn out to be. I loved every bit of it, the only thing I hated was that those two days went by so fast. Day 2 of TMS...you see my Law bag? It came in handy with all of my purchases :-) I didn't go to TMS last year, so; I don't have anything to compare it with, but; I wasn't disappointed. There were dozens and dozens of all kinds of makeup brands, companies and exhibits. The most popular makeup brands that stood out at the event were Inglot, Kissable Couture, Mac, Makeup Forever and OCC to name a few. The show was crazy packed both days, we arrived later on in the day on both days and it was packed until closing. The Inglot booth was always busy, that was to be expected.  There were a lot of exciting exhibits from makeovers to special effects

I'm going to The Makeup Show!

Hey, Glamour Dolls! As you know this time of the year is busy with all kinds of makeup shows from IMATS to The Makeup Show. I didn't blog about IMATS NYC this year because I didn't attend, this year will be different because I'm going to The Makeup Show for the 1st time ever, in NYC! The Makeup Show is similar to IMATS, it's a trade show that presents seminars, workshops and new products. The show also features product launches, new product lines, networking opportunities and even a career fair this year! One of the biggest differences between IMATS and The Makeup Show is that IMATS is open to everyone, anyone could attend... The Makeup Show is pro only, for individuals and companies that are involved in the makeup industry-you do have to show proof of your profession upon entry. I'm not from NYC, so; it will be a weekend getaway with a friend of mine, who is also a MUA. I'm excited as I was last year because there will be so many great companies there
