Check out the review below this post. * I made my biweekly visit to Walgreen's, which happens to be a store that I can never go in and buy one item, mainly because I always browse their makeup aisle...they always have brands that you don't normally see in drugstores. While browsing, I saw the new Iman BB creams for women of color! I read that Iman was going to launch her BB creams soon, I just didn't know when. I was so happy to see the display. I must have stayed in front of this display for at least 10 minutes reading the display and looking at the shades. The cream comes in 6 shades, while browsing; I noticed the smaller bottles on the right, they are sample colors of the BB creams to swatch, which makes choosing your shade so convenient! I purchased the Iman BB cream some months ago and now after wearing it for a while, I can give my full review on the cream. In part 1 we talked about the top foundation myths that all women have about foundation. This second part is going to feature the foundation brands that are great for women of color and foundation tips from the pros. The great thing about all of these brands is that they are budget friendly. You don't have to break the bank or purse to have a good foundation. These brands are just suggestions, they are tons of other great brands of foundation that look great on women of color but I can only blog about a few, don't limit your choices to just the brands that I've featured here :) 1. A while ago back in March I did a post on " Foundation for WOC ." In the post I referenced the April edition of Essence magazine. It was a foundation special in that article for women of color on pages 48-54. From March until now that particular post is my most viewed post according to Blogger stats. Since I featured general information in that post, I wanted to revisit the topic again with more detailed information. This will be a 2 part post. I'm an avid LOVER and subscriber to Essence magazine! This month's (April 2010) issue has a beauty special on the best foundation for Women of Color. It highlights many of the most concerned foundation topics: -skin concerns (avoiding breakouts, not looking heavily made up) -how to pick the best formula for your skin type and your needed coverage -how to make your foundation last throughout the day -the proper tools to apply your foundation -special effect foundations that help with blemishes and anti-aging foundation The article also lists the foundations and prices that will work best for your budget and skin. I haven't seen a more detailed article about foundation for women of color ever, so this article is definitely worth reading! If you've liked reading this article in Essence magazine-they have a monthly beauty section covering skin, hair and makeup exclusively for women of color.

I love, love, love this DVD. I subscribed to Sam Fine's mailing list on his website http://www.samfine.com about a year ago and I was so excited about him making a DVD on makeup beauty basics. Sam Fine has an amazing talent in sculpting faces and using natural and neutral colors in his makeup application. This DVD is actually a follow up to his book (which I have also) "Fine Beauty Basics and Beyond for African American Women." The title and book imply that the book is for African American women but every nationality can benefit from his knowledge and expertise. The DVD is about 60 minutes. He explains the proper tools that we need to create the flawless and seamless look and he also performs three live makeovers on the DVD and so much more! He explains the natural, trendsetter and the classic beauty looks. This is an AWESOME DVD! If you want to know the basics to apply makeup or want to become a makeup artist this is a must-have DVD.
