Mac Cosmetics Pro Class

I took my first Pro class from Mac last Sunday in Wash, DC. Mac offers pro classes to their pro members in a variety of topics on makeup and application. I took the Bridal makeup class. It was amazing! This particular class was for 2 hours and the price was $100 (that was fully redeemable in products). The instructor was one of Mac's Senior Pro Artists, Tiffany Johnston. The line to get inside, this was a SOLD OUT class!  Tiffany was a great instructor. She has been a makeup artist for over 20 years! The first part of the class she put us at ease and asked us what we wanted to learn out of the class and she answered all of our questions from contracts, kit essentials, bridal consultations, rates, to our professionalism. The second half of the class she did a full bridal look on one of the Mac employees. Essence Insiders

I'm a lover of Essence magazine and I'm one of their loyal subscribers. They introduced a new program this year called the Essence Insiders program which I joined a few months ago. The insiders program allows its members to be the first to know about new products, review Essence's ad campaign and try new products and submit your feedback on the products. Here is what Essence says about the program: "The ESSENCE Insiders Panel is a group of women brought together by ESSENCE – the premier brand and magazine for today’s African-American woman. Members of the ESSENCE Insiders panel, the largest online voice of African-American women in the country, play a vital role—from testing new consumer products to evaluating the effectiveness of a brand strategy, tagline or message. ESSENCE Insiders members are among the first to hear about new products, to review ad campaigns before they appear to the public, and to get the latest buzz on what's happening ...

Top 3 Makeup Inspirations

Growing up I have always have had a few makeup and beauty inspirations who have inspired me from their lifestyle, hair, clothes and makeup. Here are my top three: 1. Monica I have always admired Monica's style and music since her first album at 15 years old. Most celebrities usually go for a flawless face and a nude eye/barely there eye but Monica sets her own style. Her eye makeup always is flawless and expertly defined. I've seen her wear a colorful eye to a smokey or nude eye. No matter what she wears it alwasy compliments her flawless face and contoured features. Her style and makeup is out of this world. I love it!!!! Her makeup artist is the talented Christian Balenciaga. 2.  Kimora Lee Simmons Anyone who really knows me knows I absolutely LOVE Kimora Lee Simmons!! I think I'm in the Fab lane right along with Kimora, lol. I love her entrepreneurial spirit, creativity, motivation, business sense and her style. Kimora's look always reminds me of a beautifu...
