Makeup Forever's HD foundation is another foundation that I frequently wear. I promised a review on this foundation (I know it's late) so here it is...
Product Claims
"An oil-free medium-to-full-coverage liquid foundation that covers skin imperfections flawlessly while remaining invisible on-screen and in real life. This foundation creates a soft-focus effect, which is designed to meet the coverage concerns of those in the spotlight. It leaves your complexion with such a flawless finish, it can withstand bright or harsh lighting.
Pros
- It leaves skin beautifully flawless!
-Great for photography, (no white haze) especially great for weddings, photo shoots or tv production.
-Available in 25 shades.
-Available in a variety of undertones including: olive, beige, pink and yellow.
-It feels very light on your face.
-A little goes a long way.
-Light to medium coverage.
-No harsh lines, this is good if you forget to blend past the perimeter of your face.
Cons
-The price is $40 for 1 fl oz. It costs about $24 if you have a Makeup Forever Backstage card.
-It can only be purchased through Sephora, Sephora online or a Makeup Forever boutique if one is in your area.
My Thoughts (Detailed)
Honestly, I didn't like this foundation when I bought it... it didn't live up to the hype to me. One of the reasons I purchased it was because it looked so beautiful on my friend. Her face was so flawless and dewy. I'm a sucker for a dewy liquid foundation. When I bought it, it felt light on my face but it didn't look good at all when I applied it with a sponge. However, since I bought it I figured I would continue to use it.
I started applying it with a duo fibre brush and I noticed different results. The finish was flawless. A few different people on different occasions have told me that my skin "looks like a porcelain doll" when I wear this foundation. I agree, but you know how everyone has a product that they have a love-hate relationship with? This is my love-hate product.
Sometimes when I wear it-my skin is so flawless and pretty and other times when I wear this foundation my skin looks so blah :( Also, when I wear it-my skin comes out with a matte finish even if I don't use a mattifier. I've seen this foundation on others and their skin is so dewy and my skin is all matte and dry looking. I guess it's something in my skin chemistry... anyway, I'll have to use a makeup mister spray to give me that dewy finish that I like.
I do think this foundation is worth a try if you want a foundation that gives a great flawless finish. In all honesty, I can take it or leave it. I did buy the MUFE HD concealer. I really like it, it covers well and it provides a dewy finish unlike the foundation.
