Nail Trends I'm Loving....

I've always admired nail art, I always believe that well manicured, polished nails can enhance a woman's look and put the finishing touches to a chic outfit...especially when the hands are accompanied by beautiful hand jewelry. This year, there have been two nail trends that I've been in love with and I decided copy.

ACCENT NAILS

The typical design accent nail trend is not new, there are plenty of women who get designs on any given nail(s) or even all of their nails, but; what is new is the the color blocking accent nail trend that I love.

Recently, I've seen women who will have the majority of their nails polished one color and maybe one or two nails polished another color on the opposite end of the color spectrum...it seems odd at first, but; it turns out beautiful. This is a great alternative for women who want a different look, but not necessarily a design...especially if you work in a conservative work environment.

STILETTO NAILS

Square nails are classic, but; this year the oval and stiletto nails (oval nail-with a pointed end) are really popular. I love the stiletto nails, they're so edgy and fashion forward. Rihanna and Eva Marcille are famous for their stiletto nails.

Eva with the stiletto nails...

Of course I had to put my own spin on both of the nail trends, I opted to change from my regular square shaped nails to the oval nail with a pointy end. I figured I would try the color blocking nail trend, I went the the nail salon and chose a sheer purple with a sea-foam green accent nail. So far so good, I like the change...the oval shaped nails seem so dainty and feminine to me; which are two elements of my personal style.

What do you think of these nail trends? Would you try them?

I always do accent nails but I haven't tried the stiletto nail look yet! I guess because I wear my natural nails and I don't want to file them (lol me being lazy). Both are cute trends though.

Hi lady! Great post. You know I'm all about nails and polish. OK, I love the accent nail. I think that's the safest way for nail newbies to step outside of the box. Not sure about the stiletto nails, though. You could kill a mofo with those babies!

@ Miss Dre: If you try it, take pics so I can see.

@Jennifer: Yes girl, you are the nail queen! I wish I could draw on designs like you.

Lol @ the stiletto nails killing people, they definitely can be used as a weapon.

i've been wearing my nails oval/pointy for a while now and i'm not sure i can go back to square.. this shape slenderizes my hands a bit and yes makes them feel more feminine and like you said dainty..

Exactly, I like the dainty feel of the oval nails.

I went all the way to stiletto nails now, they are really pointed. I'll have to do an update to this post.

How I Refurbished my Louis Vuitton Speedy...

I bought an authentic preloved Louis Vuitton Damier Speedy bag a few months back. While I was so excited to finally get the bag and wear it, I realized (at that time of buying and when I received it) that the bag had some wear on it that could use some fixing up. After searching online, I found a blogger,  Lollipuff , who posted an article on how to refurbish LV bags. Based on the recommendations in the post, I used the following products: Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, Blue Magic Metal Polish cream (tube) and Cadillac Boot and Shine leather conditioner. I also used laundry detergent and baby wipes. All of the products used can be used on any bag to spruce it up. Read on for the deets, to see how you can spruce up your handbag! Before At first glance, the bag had some sheen on the exterior. Most of the brass fixtures had green tarnishing (which happens with aging of brass). The leather handles were dull. The bag had lost some of its shape. The inside was the kicker! The red interi

Mac Face and Body Foundation Review

One of my most used foundations is the Mac Face and Body liquid foundation. I've been promising a  review on it, so here it is. Face and Body Foundation provides sheer, natural looking coverage in an easy to blend, water-resistant formula. The long-lasting formula is available in a wide range of colours and contains several emollients to help moisturize and condition the skin. It delivers professional looking results that meet the exacting standards of beauty photography and is ideal for perfecting the face and body." Pros -Price is $32.50 retail and about $19 if you're a Mac pro card member (That could be a con based on your finances). -For the price you pay it gives you a lot of foundation. It's in a 4 fl oz bottle. -Because it's water based it doesn't feel heavy, it feels very light on the face.

Creme of Nature Lemongrass and Rosemary Leave-In Conditioner Review

After promising myself to take better care of my hair, I read in a hair care magazine that if you have breakage or dry hair (like my hair) to consider purchasing a leave-in conditioner, since you don't have to rinse it out-the conditioner keeps on working and conditioning your hair. This was perfect for me because I'm really lazy when it comes to styling and taking care of my own hair... usually I look for products that are easy and quick to use. I do use Creme of Nature's Detangling shampoo, so I figured I would buy their leave-in conditioner. FYI- Creme of Nature is a brand that specializes in hair care products for women of color, who have natural or relaxed hair. They mostly use natural ingredients in their products, which they call "Certified Organic." Product Claims "Pamper your hair with this creme-based formula to soften, detangle, and provide the ultimate conditioning.  Perfect for color treated hair, organic  Lemongrass works to tone and hig
