Self Care is. . . knowing when to take breaks!

The month of October was a great month for crushing some of my blogger + influencer goals! I decided to take a needed break to focus on myself. Since my blog is mostly social now, (I post mainly on Instagram), I sometimes get lost in creating, planning, filming, and photographing consistent content that I forget about the person behind the content. 💯⁣

I don't want that to become a habit, so I took two weeks to nurture myself and accomplish a few personal goals. I was also able to plan + create content, reassess my blog, and make some changes. I can honestly say that I feel refreshed! 🙌🏽 ⁣

⚡️The takeaway from this post is that frequent breaks are essential to self care. Breaks are for you, you don’t need permission to take them, and please don’t feel guilty for taking them. Taking regular breaks can prevent burnout, refresh you, enhance your perspective, and increase creativity. I encourage you to take breaks as needed.❣️⁣

Fun Fact: This is a Flashback pic from last year. I absolutely love this mural! ❤️ My sister and I took at least 100 pics between the two of us at this mural. It was so cold and windy out, but we didn’t care. The mural is by Faatimah Stevens. The mural address is 333 Peters St. SW Atlanta, GA 30313. ⁣

Mac Face and Body Foundation Review

One of my most used foundations is the Mac Face and Body liquid foundation. I've been promising a  review on it, so here it is. Product Claims "A water-based, water-resistant foundation that provides long-lasting, natural coverage for face and/or body. Ideal for all skin types. Face and Body Foundation provides sheer, natural looking coverage in an easy to blend, water-resistant formula. The long-lasting formula is available in a wide range of colours and contains several emollients to help moisturize and condition the skin. It delivers professional looking results that meet the exacting standards of beauty photography and is ideal for perfecting the face and body." Pros -Price is $32.50 retail and about $19 if you're a Mac pro card member (That could be a con based on your finances). -For the price you pay it gives you a lot of foundation. It's in a 4 fl oz bottle. -Because it's water based it doesn't feel heavy, it feels very light on the face. ...

Well-Being: A Better Night's Sleep

Hello, Dolls A good night's sleep is something I've been chasing after for years. Like many people, my nights can be chaotic. Not to mention, I've been suffering with insomnia for years, yes years.     It takes me a while to unwind and fall asleep, and when I finally do, I wake up several times throughout the night. I’ve taken several sleep aids and remedies through the years. I've tried teas, linen sleep sprays, over the counter and prescription aids, and almost every lavender night time product out there. Some were helpful at first, but after a while, I think my body got immune to it. So, I was very curious when Highline Wellness gifted me a bottle of their CBD Night gummies. I was skeptical at first, but they’re really working for me.  The melatonin helps you to fall asleep, and CBD helps you to stay asleep. I’m able to fall asleep faster, and stay asleep longer. An added benefit is I don’t wake up the next morning experiencing grogginess like I’ve felt with ot...

Creme of Nature Lemongrass and Rosemary Leave-In Conditioner Review

After promising myself to take better care of my hair, I read in a hair care magazine that if you have breakage or dry hair (like my hair) to consider purchasing a leave-in conditioner, since you don't have to rinse it out-the conditioner keeps on working and conditioning your hair. This was perfect for me because I'm really lazy when it comes to styling and taking care of my own hair... usually I look for products that are easy and quick to use. I do use Creme of Nature's Detangling shampoo, so I figured I would buy their leave-in conditioner. FYI- Creme of Nature is a brand that specializes in hair care products for women of color, who have natural or relaxed hair. They mostly use natural ingredients in their products, which they call "Certified Organic." Product Claims "Pamper your hair with this creme-based formula to soften, detangle, and provide the ultimate conditioning.  Perfect for color treated hair, organic  Lemongrass works to tone and hig...
