Things to do in the DMV~ Musicbox Karaoke Lounge!

Hi Dolls,

One of the things that I love about warmer weather is getting out more and exploring new places. I was invited to attend a media night held at Musicbox Karaoke Lounge by a friend and fellow content creator.

Watching others sing karaoke is entertaining. At times, I like to sing karaoke myself, so I knew this would be a fun event! I also got the opportunity to meet and mingle with fellow content creators in my area. It was a pleasure conversing with them, they gave me the "push" and motivation to continue creating content. Read on for the deets!

Location Details
The lounge is located at 2980 Gallows Rd. Space 30, Falls Church, VA 22042. Parking is free. The lounge is kid friendly from 5-8pm. The hours are Monday-Sunday 5pm-2am. You can sing in their public bar area or rent a private room for groups or parties, (this is perfect for the introverted friend-like me-who isn't ready to sing in front of a large group yet 😉)the room prices start at $35-$85 per hour. There's an exclusive VIP room that can be reserved as well! A 19% service fee is added on to private rooms for cleaning, setup and gratuity.

The lounge has optional reserved seating

Each box number is a separate room that can be booked for parties and groups
Each room features different artwork
Food & Drinks
The food and drinks are amazing, they have a variety of tasty and unique dishes at reasonable prices.

The Experience
The entire staff, including the owner was super friendly, attentive, and helpful. What I especially loved is the artwork, each room features different artwork. I also loved the food, the vegetable pancake and chicken skewers were so delicious! The lounge has quite a few cool features, you can control the lighting in the rooms and select your karaoke playlist on a touch screen display.

Their VIP room (pictured) holds 15-25 people

Product Claims "A water-based, water-resistant foundation that provides long-lasting, natural coverage for face and/or body. Ideal for all skin types. Face and Body Foundation provides sheer, natural looking coverage in an easy to blend, water-resistant formula. The long-lasting formula is available in a wide range of colours and contains several emollients to help moisturize and condition the skin. It delivers professional looking results that meet the exacting standards of beauty photography and is ideal for perfecting the face and body." Pros -Price is $32.50 retail and about $19 if you're a Mac pro card member (That could be a con based on your finances). -For the price you pay it gives you a lot of foundation. It's in a 4 fl oz bottle. -Because it's water based it doesn't feel heavy, it feels very light on the face. ...

Well-Being: A Better Night's Sleep

Hello, Dolls A good night's sleep is something I've been chasing after for years. Like many people, my nights can be chaotic. Not to mention, I've been suffering with insomnia for years, yes years.     It takes me a while to unwind and fall asleep, and when I finally do, I wake up several times throughout the night. I’ve taken several sleep aids and remedies through the years. I've tried teas, linen sleep sprays, over the counter and prescription aids, and almost every lavender night time product out there. Some were helpful at first, but after a while, I think my body got immune to it. So, I was very curious when Highline Wellness gifted me a bottle of their CBD Night gummies. I was skeptical at first, but they’re really working for me.  The melatonin helps you to fall asleep, and CBD helps you to stay asleep. I’m able to fall asleep faster, and stay asleep longer. An added benefit is I don’t wake up the next morning experiencing grogginess like I’ve felt with ot...

Update & My Current Beauty Faves

Hey, Glamour Dolls! How are you all?! Long time no post...it feels good to finally write something on here. What's been going on with me? Just life. I've been busy and focused on a few things; which has been leaving me drained and given me a lack of desire to do anything else. Things have been all work and no play for a while and I'm finally getting my balance back again (sigh of relief!). Thankfully, I go on vacation in a few weeks. I hope to write a few more posts before I leave :-) As far as beauty news, I have been using products in my own stash-I have bought a few things here and there and I did purchase a big haul from a Mac Pro class I took the beginning of October (more about that in another post). Here are some of my faves that I've been using constantly using since the last time I posted. KISSABLE COUTURE GLOSSES I bought these glosses at The Makeup Show back in May and I've been loving them every since. The glosses are really long wea...
