I've been (Lip Stick) Tagged!

This is my very first tag since blogging- Alicia from Gloss and Sticks tagged me... She has an amazing beauty blog that features her beautiful face of the days. Please check out her blog when you get the opportunity!

1. When you were a child, did you use your mother's lipsticks?

No, I didn't. I really wasn't in to makeup when I was little. Contrary to what people think, I wasn't one of these little girls that had the play makeup sets. I would always watch my mother apply makeup and I remember it was always calming to watch her apply it and the colors always intrigued me. I played with her nail polish more than I did makeup.

2. How old were you when you bought your first lipstick?

I was 18 when I bought my first lipstick. It was "O" by Mac. I'm ashamed that I still have it. I had a love-hate relationship with lipstick and didn't wear it for the longest time. It didn't matter what the color was, I didn't think it looked good on me. As you can see from my pics above, my thinking has changed :)

3. Pink or red lipstick?

Both! Both colors look good on everyone. I like pink lipstick because it makes you look youthful and red lipstick because it's classic glamorous! Red is a feel good color for me, whenever I'm depressed- I wear red.

4. The most expensive lipstick you have ever bought?

Mac lipstick for $14 and that was before I got my Mac Pro card.. I love Mac lipstick. I'm trying to broaden my horizons and try other lipsticks.

5. And the cheapest?

Wet n Wild lipstick for .99 cent each.

6. What's the most bizarre thing you have ever done with a lipstick?

I have wrote on my arms with lipstick, used it as eyeshadow and blush and I drew lipstick on my face like I was Indian. The most bizarre thing is... I wrote a 4 page fan letter to Nokio from the R'B singing group Dru Hill back in the day (I love Dru Hill!) and I had to spray the letter with perfume and I put on some lipstick and kissed the paper, leaving my lipstick print on the letter. I was so sprung! After all that, I never mailed the letter off- my cousin told me Nokio wasn't going to read it... (rolls eyes).

Nokio, this was before he started getting crazy with his hair!
7. If you had to recommend a lipstick, which brand would you recommend and why?

I would recommend Iman, Mac and Wet n Wild, all of those brands have lipsticks that are definitely affordable and they offer a wide range of colors. Their lipsticks are also moisturizing and long wearing.

I would like to tag Cocoa from Gettin Cazhmerred, The Brown Girl from Beauty and the Brown Girl, Girl Rates WorldThe Glamorous Gleam, Andrea from Andrea's Beauty Blog,  Answering the Call of Beauty and Sher from 871sher.

Do you prefer lip stick, gloss, both or neither? Vote in my poll on the top right!

How I Refurbished my Louis Vuitton Speedy...

I bought an authentic preloved Louis Vuitton Damier Speedy bag a few months back. While I was so excited to finally get the bag and wear it, I realized (at that time of buying and when I received it) that the bag had some wear on it that could use some fixing up. After searching online, I found a blogger,  Lollipuff , who posted an article on how to refurbish LV bags. Based on the recommendations in the post, I used the following products: Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, Blue Magic Metal Polish cream (tube) and Cadillac Boot and Shine leather conditioner. I also used laundry detergent and baby wipes. All of the products used can be used on any bag to spruce it up. Read on for the deets, to see how you can spruce up your handbag! Before At first glance, the bag had some sheen on the exterior. Most of the brass fixtures had green tarnishing (which happens with aging of brass). The leather handles were dull. The bag had lost some of its shape. The inside was the kicker! The red interi

Mac Face and Body Foundation Review

One of my most used foundations is the Mac Face and Body liquid foundation. I've been promising a  review on it, so here it is. Product Claims "A water-based, water-resistant foundation that provides long-lasting, natural coverage for face and/or body. Ideal for all skin types. Face and Body Foundation provides sheer, natural looking coverage in an easy to blend, water-resistant formula. The long-lasting formula is available in a wide range of colours and contains several emollients to help moisturize and condition the skin. It delivers professional looking results that meet the exacting standards of beauty photography and is ideal for perfecting the face and body." Pros -Price is $32.50 retail and about $19 if you're a Mac pro card member (That could be a con based on your finances). -For the price you pay it gives you a lot of foundation. It's in a 4 fl oz bottle. -Because it's water based it doesn't feel heavy, it feels very light on the face.

Creme of Nature Lemongrass and Rosemary Leave-In Conditioner Review

After promising myself to take better care of my hair, I read in a hair care magazine that if you have breakage or dry hair (like my hair) to consider purchasing a leave-in conditioner, since you don't have to rinse it out-the conditioner keeps on working and conditioning your hair. This was perfect for me because I'm really lazy when it comes to styling and taking care of my own hair... usually I look for products that are easy and quick to use. I do use Creme of Nature's Detangling shampoo, so I figured I would buy their leave-in conditioner. FYI- Creme of Nature is a brand that specializes in hair care products for women of color, who have natural or relaxed hair. They mostly use natural ingredients in their products, which they call "Certified Organic." Product Claims "Pamper your hair with this creme-based formula to soften, detangle, and provide the ultimate conditioning.  Perfect for color treated hair, organic  Lemongrass works to tone and hig
