Elf Zit Zapper Review

Even in my late twenties (it pains me to say late twenties...ugh!) I'm still battling with adult acne, I'm really starting to think it'll never go away.

I'm always on the look out for acne fighting products that help to treat and prevent acne flareups. I was watching a You Tube video and in the video she was raving about Elf's Zit Zapper, since I'm a fan of Elf products I thought I would give it a try. Here are my thoughts...

PRODUCT CLAIMS

"Zap zits away with the unique blend of Salicylic Acid, Tea Tree Oil, Witch Hazel and Camphor.

This special clear formula helps to fight and prevent acne, reduce redness and swelling, minimize pore size and clear skin."

PROS

-Very affordable, only $1.
-Can be easily purchased at Elf's website or Target stores.
-Very small size, fits in your pocket or cosmetic bag.
-It's 0.2 fl oz but lasts a long time.
-Reduces redness from pimples.

CONS

-Because of the medicine and other ingredients in it, it has a strong scent.

MY THOUGHTS

I'm very impressed, who knew you can spend $1 for a skin care item and it would actually work! I tend to have whitehead pimples and when they show up- I put some of this on it and within the next day or two the pimple is gone! This really works if the pimple has just formed, because it's easier to treat.

I can also tell when my skin is getting ready to form a pimple because it starts to form a knot like a mosquito bite and I start to see some redness... when that happens-I roll this on and within a day it takes away the redness and it stops the pimple from forming.

I think it works so well because it's made with four ingredients( tea tree oil, witch hazel, salicylic acid and camphor) that are known to fight pimples, normally acne treatments have 1 or 2 of these ingredients but not all four. If you suffer with acne, I think this product will be worth a try.

Do you suffer with acne or an occasional breakout? Do you do anything to treat it?

Comments

This is a def try for me...someone once told me that toothpaste can help clear pimples. I've tried it a few times. Can't really say if it worked or not

I've heard about the toothpaste trick, it did dry up the pimples and made them appear smaller.
Girl I'm so glad you reviewed this product. I've been interested in this Zit Zapper for months. I'm a huge ELF fan as well, however, I know that ELF is a hit or miss when it comes to finding good stuff. Most of the Studio Line is great but the regular $1 products can be a risk. I've avoided this product b/c it was a dollar and I figured it wouldn't work, Now I'll have to try it. I currently use Clinique's Emergency Gel Lotion and Spot Healing Gel.

As for using Toothpaste, I don't recommend it. Fluoride is not intended to be used on the skin. Sure the toothpaste will dry up the pimple, but it will also dry the skin around it and can leave an ugly scar. Stick to dermatologist recommended products. :-)
Forgot to mention that I love that polish color. What is it?

I felt the same way, I was skeptical at first because it was $1 but I was pleasantly surprised. Hopefully you'll like it. Thanks for the info about the toothpaste, I read somewhere that it does dry the skin out... I knew it was a reason I stopped using it, couldn't remember though :)

Thanks, the nail polish is Baby Purple, it was one of the colors I picked out at the nail salon.

How I Refurbished my Louis Vuitton Speedy...

I bought an authentic preloved Louis Vuitton Damier Speedy bag a few months back. While I was so excited to finally get the bag and wear it, I realized (at that time of buying and when I received it) that the bag had some wear on it that could use some fixing up. After searching online, I found a blogger,  Lollipuff , who posted an article on how to refurbish LV bags. Based on the recommendations in the post, I used the following products: Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, Blue Magic Metal Polish cream (tube) and Cadillac Boot and Shine leather conditioner. I also used laundry detergent and baby wipes. All of the products used can be used on any bag to spruce it up. Read on for the deets, to see how you can spruce up your handbag! Before At first glance, the bag had some sheen on the exterior. Most of the brass fixtures had green tarnishing (which happens with aging of brass). The leather handles were dull. The bag had lost some of its shape. The inside was the kicker! The red interi

Mac Face and Body Foundation Review

One of my most used foundations is the Mac Face and Body liquid foundation. I've been promising a  review on it, so here it is. Product Claims "A water-based, water-resistant foundation that provides long-lasting, natural coverage for face and/or body. Ideal for all skin types. Face and Body Foundation provides sheer, natural looking coverage in an easy to blend, water-resistant formula. The long-lasting formula is available in a wide range of colours and contains several emollients to help moisturize and condition the skin. It delivers professional looking results that meet the exacting standards of beauty photography and is ideal for perfecting the face and body." Pros -Price is $32.50 retail and about $19 if you're a Mac pro card member (That could be a con based on your finances). -For the price you pay it gives you a lot of foundation. It's in a 4 fl oz bottle. -Because it's water based it doesn't feel heavy, it feels very light on the face.

Creme of Nature Lemongrass and Rosemary Leave-In Conditioner Review

After promising myself to take better care of my hair, I read in a hair care magazine that if you have breakage or dry hair (like my hair) to consider purchasing a leave-in conditioner, since you don't have to rinse it out-the conditioner keeps on working and conditioning your hair. This was perfect for me because I'm really lazy when it comes to styling and taking care of my own hair... usually I look for products that are easy and quick to use. I do use Creme of Nature's Detangling shampoo, so I figured I would buy their leave-in conditioner. FYI- Creme of Nature is a brand that specializes in hair care products for women of color, who have natural or relaxed hair. They mostly use natural ingredients in their products, which they call "Certified Organic." Product Claims "Pamper your hair with this creme-based formula to soften, detangle, and provide the ultimate conditioning.  Perfect for color treated hair, organic  Lemongrass works to tone and hig
