Mac Pro Class 2012 - Bridal Beauty

I'm back with my Mac Pro class post. Here it is...

Mac offers pro classes to its pro members a few times a year, there were two in my area; which was the Bridal Beauty and the Creating Drag makeup class. I really wanted to take the drag makeup class but it starts the same day that I leave for vacation.

I hesitantly decided to take the Bridal Beauty class, the only reason that I was hesitant was because I had already taken the Mac Pro Bridal Beauty  class in 2010 before, I loved it, but; I wanted to learn something different. Since I was in a funk, I decided, why not?! I needed something to get me reinspired. Plus, my friend Lynette had been waiting to attend a Mac Pro class for a while, we hadn't took a makeup class together in 2 years...I had to go, it was like a mini reunion.

Me and Lynette

The class was great! Mac Senior Pro artist Fatima Thomas taught the class. Fatima has been in the makeup artistry biz for 18 years, she has all kinds of celebrity clients and she travels to different locations teaching Mac pro classes. She's very passionate about Mac products and her creativity as an artist.

Fatima applying makeup to the model.

Fatima applied two sets of lashes to the model...Mac #7 and Mac #36 lashes.

She shared a lot of information on how to build clientele how to market yourself (which included having business cards, a website, a portfolio and social networking. She also talked about contracts, how to set your rates, product knowledge and even color theory...she was that thorough! The second part of the class she did a bridal makeup demo on one of the Mac artists at the store.

The end result!

I love the defined eyes.

The class lasted for two hours, the first hour she talked with us and shared with us the products that she uses in her kit for weddings. She answered all of our questions throughout the entire class. The final part of the class is shopping! This particular class cost $100. The $100 is fully redeemable in products...that means you get a $100 certificate at the end of the class to shop with and your pro discount is applied to your purchases.

I really didn't want anything in particular, my plan was to go ahead and just stock up on items that I normally use...that sort of happened. When I got there I just picked out what I wanted. I didn't do too bad. I went $8 over the $100 this time, at the 2010 class; I went about $50 over my $100.

The Haul: Click the pic to enlarge.

Swatches from left to right: Magenta lip liner, St. Germain l/s, Lovechild l/g, Enchantress l/g

I got another Select Cover up concealer, two lip glasses: Lovechild and Enchantress, two lip liners: Magenta and Beet (not pictured), another Careblend pressed powder in dark, another Spiked eyebrow pencil, Studio Tint moisturizer, a 217 blending brush. I had 12 items to Back to Mac, so; I was able to get Hug Me and St. Germain lipstick. I also got the travel sized Studio Moisture Cream moisturizer and the Tranquil cleanse off oil.

All in all, the class was a hit!

Good times! I didn't realize you bought so much lol. I bought the Spiked pencil too. Used it on my vacation last week, and fell in love with it. The Opulash mascara was a lot nicer than I expected too. Probably won't replace my CG with it, but with the Pro discount, it's a good sub.

I need to go back for the spot corrector product she mentioned. Can't remember the name.

Yeah, girl...I was working that $100 lol. Spiked brow pencil is one of my must-have items, glad you like it.

Was the spot corrector a concealer item or a skin care item? I have some dark spots I'm trying to clear up.

It was a skincare item, but I didn't see it listed on the site. It was during her prepping of the skin phase. She only did the one blemish.

@Agent Elle: It could have been on the list of products she gave us. It was called "refined" something.

How I Refurbished my Louis Vuitton Speedy...

I bought an authentic preloved Louis Vuitton Damier Speedy bag a few months back. While I was so excited to finally get the bag and wear it, I realized (at that time of buying and when I received it) that the bag had some wear on it that could use some fixing up. After searching online, I found a blogger,  Lollipuff , who posted an article on how to refurbish LV bags. Based on the recommendations in the post, I used the following products: Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, Blue Magic Metal Polish cream (tube) and Cadillac Boot and Shine leather conditioner. I also used laundry detergent and baby wipes. All of the products used can be used on any bag to spruce it up. Read on for the deets, to see how you can spruce up your handbag! Before At first glance, the bag had some sheen on the exterior. Most of the brass fixtures had green tarnishing (which happens with aging of brass). The leather handles were dull. The bag had lost some of its shape. The inside was the kicker! The red interi

Mac Face and Body Foundation Review

One of my most used foundations is the Mac Face and Body liquid foundation. I've been promising a  review on it, so here it is. Product Claims "A water-based, water-resistant foundation that provides long-lasting, natural coverage for face and/or body. Ideal for all skin types. Face and Body Foundation provides sheer, natural looking coverage in an easy to blend, water-resistant formula. The long-lasting formula is available in a wide range of colours and contains several emollients to help moisturize and condition the skin. It delivers professional looking results that meet the exacting standards of beauty photography and is ideal for perfecting the face and body." Pros -Price is $32.50 retail and about $19 if you're a Mac pro card member (That could be a con based on your finances). -For the price you pay it gives you a lot of foundation. It's in a 4 fl oz bottle. -Because it's water based it doesn't feel heavy, it feels very light on the face.

Creme of Nature Lemongrass and Rosemary Leave-In Conditioner Review

After promising myself to take better care of my hair, I read in a hair care magazine that if you have breakage or dry hair (like my hair) to consider purchasing a leave-in conditioner, since you don't have to rinse it out-the conditioner keeps on working and conditioning your hair. This was perfect for me because I'm really lazy when it comes to styling and taking care of my own hair... usually I look for products that are easy and quick to use. I do use Creme of Nature's Detangling shampoo, so I figured I would buy their leave-in conditioner. FYI- Creme of Nature is a brand that specializes in hair care products for women of color, who have natural or relaxed hair. They mostly use natural ingredients in their products, which they call "Certified Organic." Product Claims "Pamper your hair with this creme-based formula to soften, detangle, and provide the ultimate conditioning.  Perfect for color treated hair, organic  Lemongrass works to tone and hig
