Iman BB Cream Review (Detailed)

I purchased the Iman BB cream some months ago and now after wearing it for a while, I can give my full review on the cream. Here goes...

*For those that don't know, BB creams are a multi functioning product that can prime, moisturize, even skin and provide SPF. If you find a BB cream with the right coverage it can replace your foundation or concealer and it cuts down the amount of time you spend on making up your face.*

PROS

-It has SPF 15.
-It adds moisture to the skin.
-The shades are made especially for women of color.
-The bottle comes in a squeeze tube cap, so you use less product.
-Provides a natural, dewy finish.
-Long wearing.
-It comes with an expiration date, so you'll know when to toss it.
-It's made with ingredients to brighten your skin.

CONS

-It has a sheer coverage, which only gives a hint of color.
-Most BB creams prime the skin for foundation and/or concealer, this cream does not...it's not listed in it's claims or on the Iman website.
-It's not buildable.

My Thoughts

I like that the shade ranges fit women of color ( I tested the shades at Walgreens), the undertones in the product actually suit women of color. I also like that it has SPF because most foundations/concealers don't. It's very long wearing, I'll put it on in the morning before I go to work and it lasts until I take it off. I really like the finish of it, it provides a natural looking finish-the "my skin but better look".

On the other hand, I don't like that the coverage is sheer. Most of the time, when a product is sheer you can build it (add another layer of the product) and it will provide you with more coverage...this is not the case with this cream. You can build and build and it will still be sheer, if you don't have a lot of blemishes and scarring then the sheer coverage will work for you. However; if you have hyperpigmentation or blemishes like myself, you will need to add concealer or powder.

What does it look like?

Left: Bare Faced, Right: Wearing only the Iman BB cream

Where to buy?

It can be purchased at select Walgreens. It can also be purchased on the Iman website and from Ulta.

Price

It's $19.99 for 1 fl oz of product, at first I thought this was expensive but there are several BB creams that start at $40 and up.

Would I repurchase?

I will probably repurchase it again because it does have SPF and BB creams are so convenient to use, they make your morning routine so much easier.

Shade Comparisons

I bought the shade Clay Medium when I got back from vacation and had a tan, so now it's darker on me but it still works. Here are some comparison shades:

Mac NC44/45 and Mac C6
Loreal True Match 6.5
Black Opal Rich Carmael or Heavenly Honey
Mufe 173
Maybelline Fit Me 320

Well-Being: A Better Night's Sleep

Hello, Dolls A good night's sleep is something I've been chasing after for years. Like many people, my nights can be chaotic. Not to mention, I've been suffering with insomnia for years, yes years.     It takes me a while to unwind and fall asleep, and when I finally do, I wake up several times throughout the night. I’ve taken several sleep aids and remedies through the years. I've tried teas, linen sleep sprays, over the counter and prescription aids, and almost every lavender night time product out there. Some were helpful at first, but after a while, I think my body got immune to it. So, I was very curious when Highline Wellness gifted me a bottle of their CBD Night gummies. I was skeptical at first, but they’re really working for me.  The melatonin helps you to fall asleep, and CBD helps you to stay asleep. I’m able to fall asleep faster, and stay asleep longer. An added benefit is I don’t wake up the next morning experiencing grogginess like I’ve felt with ot...

How I Refurbished my Louis Vuitton Speedy...

I bought an authentic preloved Louis Vuitton Damier Speedy bag a few months back. While I was so excited to finally get the bag and wear it, I realized (at that time of buying and when I received it) that the bag had some wear on it that could use some fixing up. After searching online, I found a blogger,  Lollipuff , who posted an article on how to refurbish LV bags. Based on the recommendations in the post, I used the following products: Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, Blue Magic Metal Polish cream (tube) and Cadillac Boot and Shine leather conditioner. I also used laundry detergent and baby wipes. All of the products used can be used on any bag to spruce it up. Read on for the deets, to see how you can spruce up your handbag! Before At first glance, the bag had some sheen on the exterior. Most of the brass fixtures had green tarnishing (which happens with aging of brass). The leather handles were dull. The bag had lost some of its shape. The inside was the kicker! The red in...
