Fall's Hautest Trends in...makeup, colors and clothes!!!

Fall is officially here... that means clothes, makeup and styles are changing (for those of us who live in a cooler climate this time of year) with the help of several fashion authorities I've put together a list of the trends, styles and must have items for Fall.

What are the must-wear colors this fall season?
Chocolate, black, gray and military green are Fall's hottest colors. The most popular pop of color to wear this season is...fuchsia.

Top Fall Trends for Clothing and Accessories:

1. Layered Jewelry- Pile the pieces on! Wearing multiple necklaces and bracelets add glam to any outfit. Make sure to have 1 bold, statement piece of jewelry and layer it with other pieces. Statement jewelry can be purchased anywhere. I love Claire's and Icing for jewelry and my most favorite place to shop for statement jewelry is from my own personal website :) http://www.cookielee.biz/gabrieljones

 2. High Over the Knee Boots-High boots make your legs look longer and it gives you a more lean look. High boots are very versatile: they can be worn with a mini skirt, your favorite skinny jeans tucked into the boots or even with a long skirt. I personally like to shop at Bare Feet Shoes, DSW and Nine West for boots.

3. Denim, Denim and Denim- I don't think denim will ever go out of style. The top denim trends of fall are the wide-leg bell bottom jeans, you can always improvise with bootleg jeans. Skinny jeans and military jeans are "in" this fall... and my favorite denim trend...jeggings. I love jeggings! They are part leggings and part jeans, the combination is fierce, they remind you of a comfortable pair of skinny jeans. I bought a pair last month and they are so comfy and can be worn with anything. Just about all stores now carry jeggings. They can be purchased at Ashley Stewart, Forever 21, K Jordan and Victoria's Secret stores.

4. Military- Military clothing and accessories are probably one of the most exciting trends this season. Military jackets, tops and bottoms are seen everywhere now. The military green color is so pretty and versatile it can be worn with your basic neutral colors, it can add a pop of color to an all black or white outfit. It also looks great with camel, which is another popular color this Fall.

5. Handbags-Satchels and carry all bags are hot this season. Remember, bigger bags are for daytime and wristlets and clutches are for evening wear and night time.

Satchel bags are a must-have this season!
 FALL BEAUTY & MAKEUP

1. Defined Brows-Crisp, defined brows are always a great compliment to a face. Whether you tweeze, pluck, thread or wax make sure your brows stay groomed. If you have sparse brows or for a polished look make sure you fill in your brows with a brow pencil (1 or 2 shades darker than your hair color), brow kit or even eyeshadow. I love Elf's Brow Kit in medium $3 for filling in my brows. Remember, the thinner your brow the older you look. Your brows are sisters not twins, they both won't look exactly alike.

2. Lips- Maroon, wine, red and burgundy are hot lip colors this Fall. Some of my favorite Fall lip shades are Desire by Mac and any berry color from Kryolan lip palette. Other lip brands that are worthy to try are Loreal, Milani and NYX.

3. Eyes-Green is the must try eye color to wear. There's a perfect shade for everyone. Seafoam and olive look great on medium to deep skin tones and emerald greens compliment fair skin.

4. Nails-Purple it is. Purple nails in softer or deeper hues compliment the deeper tones in the fall color.

How I Refurbished my Louis Vuitton Speedy...

I bought an authentic preloved Louis Vuitton Damier Speedy bag a few months back. While I was so excited to finally get the bag and wear it, I realized (at that time of buying and when I received it) that the bag had some wear on it that could use some fixing up. After searching online, I found a blogger,  Lollipuff , who posted an article on how to refurbish LV bags. Based on the recommendations in the post, I used the following products: Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, Blue Magic Metal Polish cream (tube) and Cadillac Boot and Shine leather conditioner. I also used laundry detergent and baby wipes. All of the products used can be used on any bag to spruce it up. Read on for the deets, to see how you can spruce up your handbag! Before At first glance, the bag had some sheen on the exterior. Most of the brass fixtures had green tarnishing (which happens with aging of brass). The leather handles were dull. The bag had lost some of its shape. The inside was the kicker! The red interi

Mac Face and Body Foundation Review

One of my most used foundations is the Mac Face and Body liquid foundation. I've been promising a  review on it, so here it is. Product Claims "A water-based, water-resistant foundation that provides long-lasting, natural coverage for face and/or body. Ideal for all skin types. Face and Body Foundation provides sheer, natural looking coverage in an easy to blend, water-resistant formula. The long-lasting formula is available in a wide range of colours and contains several emollients to help moisturize and condition the skin. It delivers professional looking results that meet the exacting standards of beauty photography and is ideal for perfecting the face and body." Pros -Price is $32.50 retail and about $19 if you're a Mac pro card member (That could be a con based on your finances). -For the price you pay it gives you a lot of foundation. It's in a 4 fl oz bottle. -Because it's water based it doesn't feel heavy, it feels very light on the face.

Creme of Nature Lemongrass and Rosemary Leave-In Conditioner Review

After promising myself to take better care of my hair, I read in a hair care magazine that if you have breakage or dry hair (like my hair) to consider purchasing a leave-in conditioner, since you don't have to rinse it out-the conditioner keeps on working and conditioning your hair. This was perfect for me because I'm really lazy when it comes to styling and taking care of my own hair... usually I look for products that are easy and quick to use. I do use Creme of Nature's Detangling shampoo, so I figured I would buy their leave-in conditioner. FYI- Creme of Nature is a brand that specializes in hair care products for women of color, who have natural or relaxed hair. They mostly use natural ingredients in their products, which they call "Certified Organic." Product Claims "Pamper your hair with this creme-based formula to soften, detangle, and provide the ultimate conditioning.  Perfect for color treated hair, organic  Lemongrass works to tone and hig
